I've owned Reflex for over one year and have never gotten it to work with my Multiplex Evo 12 radio. It keeps telling me to 'turn on your radio' even though it is turned on. I even turn it off and then on again without success.

I have no problems using my Reflex with a Futaba radio and adapter.

Now here's the funny part. I take the Multiplex adapter from Reflex and then plug it into the Interlink controllers from Realflight G2 and G3, and I can use the Multiplex with no problem with Realflight; so I know the Multiplex adapter and my Multiplex radio work fine with a simulator, just not Reflex.

I'm really disappointed that I can't seem to make the darned Reflex work with my Multiplex...

Any ideas or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks,

WM6

SwissKurt,

Thanks for the quick reply.

1) I used a working model on the Multiplex radio and it works with Realflight G2/G3 but not in Reflex.

2) Adapter is definitely in the correct position; I checked and doubled check that many times.

3) The adapter looks exactly like the one in picture from the link. I checked and double-checked that too.

The only thing I can narrow it down to is that my Reflex dongle interface has a stereo plug on it and the G2/G3 Interlink control interface has a mono plug on it. Could that be causing anything to not work?

Thanks again,

WM6

What's the next step and how do I make it work? Do I need to return my Reflex dongle for a different one?

Thanks again,

Well, my interface has a cable on one end that plugs into the USB port on my computer, then there is a box in the middle out of which there is another cable with a stereo plug on the end of it which connects to the various radio adapters.

I ordered and received a brand new Multiplex adapter which does not seem to work with the Reflex interface that I have but again, does seem to work in conjunction with the Realflight interface and software.

Arghh!!! I wish I had known about MRC because I spent about $80US dollars including shipping for a Multiplex cable directly from Reflex. Which makes me even madder because after spending all this time and money, it still doesn't work.

I'm not sure if the soldering would work because I already sort of tried the patch you are talking about with some alligator jumper wires and that didn't work either.

Believe me, I've tried just about everything before posting here on the RC boards.... The reason I want it to work so badly with my Multiplex radio, is so I can try various setups and mixes in software before attempting them on the 'real thing'...

Any other suggestions? I'll try just about anything at this point. I didn't even know there were different types of Reflex USB interfaces; are there any major differences in them?

Thanks again for your help.

Well, no luck still not working.

I grafted the Multiplex adapter onto the USB interface just like in the pictures but I still get the same message;

'please turn on your transmitter'

I try turning the radio on and off several times, still the same. I unplug and plug the adapter while the radio is on, still the same.

I checked all the signal paths with a multimeter and everything seems to be in working order except the software simply will not recognize my Multiplex.

I really don't want to buy a cheap radio just to use with Reflex but it's quickly becoming my only option left. And it's a pain to ship everything back to Reflex because of the overseas shipping costs.

Any other suggestions?

Jeez, it shouldn't be this hard, should it?

Thanks,

WM6

Yes, I'd love to meet up with him and get Reflex working with my Evo 12. How can I arrange that? I can meet him pretty much anytime and anywhere in the Bay Area.

Cheers,
