Hi guys
I have a Hitec HPD-07RH QCPM dual conversion 7 channel reciever.
Im thinking that this is too heavy for my Shogun. It weighs 36.1 grams or 1.27 Oz.
I got this with my Optic 6, so no, I didnt run out and buy it seperately lol.
Could I run it without the case?
I would rather use a PCM Rx of some sort, just for reliability.
Ideas?

For the love of the hobby

Hi Gorn,

That is a bit heavy. I'm running with a Polk's seeker 6 rx and it weighs 14grams.

Since you already have it, I'd try to lighten by taking the hard case off (carefully).

If you are looking at other rx's, I would recommend berg or the seeker 6. I've had solid performance (glitch free) from both.

Cheers,
Leslie

Hi Leslie
Ive been looking at the Bergs, and like what Ive seen and heard about them, but for the life of me, I cannot find anyone selling them with the Australian 36mhz frequency
I have an Electron 6 on my 3d Pro, and so far thats worked fine for that heli. But after all the glitching stories on Shoguns that Ive read.....well I dont wanna be another dirt smacker lol.
I personally think that all the glitches reported are from either bad placement of components or a lot of carbon fibre which is a know conductor of electrical and radio signal.
I just saw how much my reciever is worth, so I may just hold off taking the case off for now lol.

Hi Gorn,

Check out Hyperion rx's at aircraft world. I don't know if they are a re-branded berg. They "use berg" technology. They do sell 35/36Mhz rx's.

I haven't tried one, maybe someone who has will chime in here.

Cheers,
Leslie

You australian peeps need to start a revolution and break out the 72Mhz!!!! Hehe

All I can say is Sombra=bad news........ man I had some serious issues with them.........

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

LOL OICU812, my first heli was a Walkera #4, and that was 72mhz.........every time a fuel injected car went past the tail went banana's, hence it is now a mangled mess

OICU812 is right about the Sombra and even Berg if you own a Futaba transmitter with a synthesized module (dial-a-crash). Apparently the framing of the Futaba signal is misinterpreted by the receivers and don’t work.
