Looking to see if people would be interested in a slightly bigger trex, that would come out upgraded already, at a good price?

Let us know your thoughts, As if there is enough interest, it could happen......

thanks

I would be very interested. What kind of size specs are ya talking? What about the power plant and battery required? Let us know the details you are thinking about.

Basicaly the Idea is, a slightly bigger trex would fly even better in larger areas, and the Robbe eolo is too expensive. Bigger trex would mean,
new frame, longer boom, longer belt, longer boom struts tail and main blades. Not to forget the canopy.

Isn't Century soon releasing a heli that fits this description? I forget what it is called but I remember it being a little bigger than a trex. It may not be "fully loaded" though, and you have to consider the Century "service" factor.

Yes, the Eolo/Swift/Viper90 size heli (800-900mm diameter) is the next major battle ground for market share. Align would do well in this new market with its current strategy (underprice everyone else).
It's also an attractive upgrade path as many of the parts we have on the T-Rex can be transfered- The Gyro, 35A ESC, BEC, and multiple 3S1P 2000 packs can all be used on a 900mm dia. heli.

Robbe, Century and Ikarus/MSComposit are each individually not know for low spare parts pricing... An easy mark for Align...

Motors such as the MEGA 16/25/X and the Neu 1110/X with outputs peaking at 500+ watts on 6S1P or 9S1P (multiples of the 3S1P packs we already have) would be a good place to start.

Align should also be aware of the larger 50 size (1350mm dia.) market as well. As battery, motor and ESC prices fall, the affordability of these larger helis gets closer to the sub-$1000 mark. But then we're talking about competing with Tian Zi and Thunder Tiger. The competition is already using Align's pricing strategy...

Please don't come out with an "affordable" 800-900mm diameter heli... The TRex is "affordable" and I'm BROKE ENOUGH AS IT IS!

Interesting idea and sounds like fun.

If you do crank (or have one cranked for you) one out, learn the lessons from the T-Rex and make the basic mechanics usable without a lot of fiddling around or having to nickel and dime the buyer with all sorts of "newly released" upgrades that fix obvious design or production faults.

If you want to sell them like hotcakes, sell a swash that stays together!

At the moment, its just an Idea, an know places that can make it. This heli would be totally CNC ALum, Like the eolo Spirit Pro LE.

Yes, there would be a few things that would need to be looked at like the bearings etc
