hello folks
I'm interested for a frequency scanner for my 35Mhz Futaba T14MZ radio (dual conversion).
Would anyone please let me know if the ICOM IC-R5 scanner is ok for this job ?

Thank you

I use a Yupiteru MVT-7100 for the same purpose.

Just bear in mind that these scanners are far more sensitive than our RC receivers and will pick up things that the RC system won't. I bought mine some 12 years back when I had a batch of interference related crashes. Found that sun-spot activity was causing bounce and I was receiving US taxi firms here in the UK!

I also get noticeable detection on adjacent channels, usually stronger either on the channel above or below (probably because not all Tx's are accurately centred).

Still a useful tool though!

Colin
