Well, today, was my first crash. I'm suprisingly calm about it. Basically, i was flyin around, dunno if it was me, or some malfunction (probably me) but i ended up dumping it pretty much sideways. So, here's the damage toll. Flybar-Bent like a boomerang, blades-in pieces (woodies), The ball link that screws into the blade clamp was completely torn off, can still see the little end inside there, so i'll hafta get a new one.and i also broke one rudder blade. THATS IT! I'm not sure, but that sounds like a minimal crash to me. So, what i'd like to know is, are there any steps i should take while making sure nothing else is broken?

Crash...
I promise you you bent the feathering shaft. In the very minor mishap I had the feathering shaft looked like an "S" afterwards. Get two or more spares. Check the main shaft. Mine wasn't bent, but if you went in from any altitude you probably have bent that too!

Welcome to the crash club! I can almost guarantee that whatever is bent or broken you don't have. I have plenty of spare parts because Murphy says that the one part you need is the one you don't have and is backordered everywhere!!!

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it!

I agree with microdoc ..

I buy the replacement parts BEFORE i wack the machine Better chance there on stock because you technicly you don't need them ...

I vote spindle and mainshaft also.
I did had a rough landing auto and the spindle was bent. Motor problems .... fixed with a hyper.

Yes. However, make sure you get the proper v2 version, not the v1

k i'll make sure to do that. I found a site with oem parts, so i'm just going to get the exact part number thati have in my manual to replace em. But, i have q uestion on tail rotor blades, i feel like i'm not getting enough superiortiy, it tends to kick a little bit. Is that because they're a little small, or because i'm running a little rich. Keep in mind a little rich is actually pretty rich=P

The stock Raptor 50 blades should be good for you at this stage of the game. Be sure that your gyro is set up correctly and not over correcting. How far along are you in your experience? Were you just practicing hovering or actually flying around?

i was makin' ciruits around the park, still have a little trouble with nose in, i can't react as fast, but the flight i did crash on, shortly before i crashed was my first invirted flight. So i'm progressing, but i'm still a new pilot by all standards.

Sooo glad I'm not the only one!

Yup, you have a bent mainshaft and feathershaft too.
Also have bent or stripped screws holding the landing legs on.
And while you are at it. pull the main and header tank, and replace the tubing inside with something decent.
( I pull the fittings out of the tank with my teeth!)
