1) when i am hovering about 4-5 feet off the ground, every once-in-awhile my blade will go down then back up then down then back up. its like its surging. the battery is at full charge and i have install the aero kit. it works great, no glitches, good hovering, except when it does what i mentioned above. it only happens like every 2 minutes or so. i am using a 1200 mah lipo 11.1 v so i have the power for the motor....i don't know why it does that. i could keep it in a 2 foot box if it wouldn't do that every 2 minutes. and its not like my motor is old or i've been running it for 20 minutes, this happens randomly throughout the flight.

2) i love this thing. this is my first heli and i have learned everything with a large check book, lol, but i planned it that way so i don;t care. now that i can hover good and would like to move on to nose-in hovering and forward flight, my tail is out-of-control. i can keep it still for about a minute before it twitches an inch or two both ways. its not the gain because i have that about in the middle of the settings. the proportional is about in the middle too. i would like to go to separates but don't have the money for all that right now. so i would just like to upgrade my tail section. can someone let me know what would give me good reliability and solid action for the tail? new motor? new rotor? help!!!??!?!

any suggestions with part numbers and web sites would be very good, lol

thanks

If you have not done the sticky collective fix you might try it. Go to horizon hobbies, and look under the tech notes for the blade. They give you all the instructions on how to do it.

Don't assume the gain is set "right' just because it's set about in the middle. Sounds like you're set slightly high. It's sensitive to very small changes, don't be afraid to make changes and see how it reacts. Tom

ok thanks guys, i had done the collective fix awhile ago and that helped with it poppong off the ground, but i'll try to change to gain some more, i feel that with so little gain i will have to "fly" the tail a lot more than i want to, but if it keeps it from going back and forth i guess i'll try anything. thanks again. and i also am going to order the one guys DD tail mod for $20. hopefully this helps and i dont start burning out tail motors.

About ? 1

Hmm .. ..
how extreme is the drop?
Where are you flying ?

If it is a very fast drop (and you can hear the motor speed changing), then it is most likely a glitch. The problem is that glitches have MANY causes and with the 4in1 it is really hard to limit feedback to the RX from the ESC/gyro. You can also try moving the antenna or flying in a different area.

If is is a very slow drop then, It is normally for the heli to drift up and down a bit due to many things related to how air moved over the blades. Many times people will think that just because they are indoors they are safe from wind related issues. Even in a large room the heli will create it's own wind, however unlike the outdoors, this wind is often more of a down burst. From the batt side of things, there will be changes to the output of a batt during various stages of charge. This is the mostlikely cause of what you noticed.
