Do it Yourself Network - "Radio Control Hobbies."

They've been running the same two heli shows for the past couple years ( a beginner one with Jeff Green and one about electrics).

But, they have a new one next week (10/21). No detail on their site about it, yet, but it's definately a new show.

maller,,, I see you have a low post count, so you will find most of the heli guys here don't like Chris on that show,,,

in one of his show I heard him urge people to fly their Park-Flyers in the streets,,, that's a big no-no !!

Hi, Wasp - I've read the other posts about the show and it's host.

Low post count!! I'm averaging 0.83 posts per day. I thought that was a bit much, that I might need to trim down my time here for family and work.

I don't see what post count has to do with this thread. Since when does that make a difference. I for one am interested in watching the show, then I can make up my own mind.

What a total irrelevant statement. Have you ever seen Curtis' post count here? Its like 5 or 10 or something like that.
And yes that Chris guy is a total goober. Its terrible we have some one like this representing our hobby. Another guy that I think is totally fake is that dude that builds those houses and gives them to some needy family. I won't watch that show just because he seems totally patronizing.

I don't know if this will be the show or not, but DIY (and Chris) were at IRCHA this Summer. I will watch just to see the flying as filmed by professionals. I agree with all the comments about Chris, but I do credit that show for getting me involved with RC Helis, so it was worth something to me.

""I see you have a low post count"" a low post count could inherently mean that someone, anyone with a low count may not have seen earlier posts on this TV show, whereby 99% of the repliers bashed Chris,,,

that's all, nothing more nothing less !! no need to read anything into it,,,

all better now ??

If you think Chianelli is a "goober" now, you should have seen Chris back in the early 90's. Those of us in the industry remember when he worked for MAN. Most of my associates thought he was on drugs.

Nowadays, Chris looks pretty normal, relatively speaking that is. Back then his hair looked like it went in just about every different direction.

Age catches up with us all and Chris just found a way to make a living in the hobby. I can't fault him for that.

Contact Chris Chianelli
Guys - a while back, before I saw the other 2 shows they did, I emailed Chris, asking about heli shows. He was very responsive to emails.

Rather than busting on him, perhaps we can get him to help promote our hobby. I'd recommend emailing him, suggesting show topics (maybe a heli competition show, an advanced heli special, scale, etc).

maller,
Great suggestion, I'm sure that he'd apprecate the input. Maybe we would get a real interesting show out of it. Remember that he has a diverse audience to satisfy and what his producers feel will draw the biggest audience is not necessarily what we are interested in. Cut the guy some slack..

I have nothing against or for Chris. The fact is that a show format like DIY has to be short by design. It's not like a video where the dude can take as much time as he needs to adequately explain a concept or procedure. The networks have no clue about this hobby. They just think it is cute.

Please don't be too harsh when commenting on Chris. It's not his fault he's a Goober as he got hs head caught in an eggbeater several years ago and hasn't been the same since.

It was IRCHA tonight. It was pretty good! Of course if it's about heli's it's gotta be okay. The camera man wasn't the hottest, but it was still good.
