Am i the only one experiencing continue locking problems on my 35 Mhz G3 receiver?
I had to pull it off my Avant since i was getting lock at least a couple of times a flight (the last one meant a big crash).
Put the trusty 149DP back in and had 12 flights today without any problems.

I did check for any little imperfection that might have caused glitching before pulling it of the heli but with no luck. Bearings were ok, and no cracks or loose screws.


Any help would be much appreciated

Hi Corrado,

There have been several threads about G3 receiver lockouts.
According to some of them Futaba is aware of the problem and is working on resolving it:

14MZ & 149DP compatibility

14MZ receiver problems

Just do a search on combinations of two of the words: G3, lockout, glitch, glitching and 14mz.

Hey,

I don't fly Futaba at all, prefering JR, but am watching with great interest the 14MZ threads as the technology is amazing.

From what I have read and seen is there a pattern emerging where by it's mainly carbon framed machines that have problems with the new G3 Rx.'s?

My two fellow fliers both use the 14MZ. One lost a carbon framed machine through a lockout and the other, flying a stock metal framed version of the model has not had any problems.

I use the 5014 RX in all my heli machines:
Raptor 90 SE
Raptor 90 std
Raptor 50

NO problems at all, not one sign of a glitch or lock out.

Only problem I had originally (caused by mechanic not RX ) was when I fitted a carbon undercarriage, after a while the undercarriage flexed a little from its original shape, and eventually made contact with the exhaust, which did cause a lock out no damage though and a quick change back to the original undercarriage, and all has been fine since
