In the 60 - 90 class how much of a difference (on a well tuned engine) in flight time on a 60 70 80 or 90. I got a 70 for fuel reasons and have seen 90 with a little better time. Is there a big difference in these sizes and who makes the engine.

Thanks for any Info.

Yes, the 90s will empty a tank about 9.5 minutes. This is a YS 90 in a freya. Setup and flying style may add or subtract a minute or two. I seem to remember that my OS got less mileage than that.

i get easily 12 minutes of idle up flying with a YS80 and a 20oz main tank. i actually get more then that, but the timer on my radio is set for 12 to give me tonnes of landing time.

I am just wondering if there is a big difference in fuel burn between the different size motors 60, 70, 80, and 90's

My Freya/YS61 flights average 12 minutes, with a few autos in there. My Evo/YS91 flights average 14 minutes under similar conditions although the Evo has a larger tank than the Freya. This is with 2 ounce header tanks, also.

I fly medium 3D with a few autos in the average flight. I would think that if you flew the 91 wide open with constant severe loading manuevers, it would consume more than the 61. For my flying habits, they are about the same.

The 61 is a better training ship because you are forced to use collective management where the 91 just about allows you do anything with the sticks & get away with it. The Evo is the most fun heli I have ever flown. This is the consensus of all in our group that have flown it.
