So I just ordered my Evo 50 the other day and still waiting for it to arrive. On heliproz it says that the evo comes with the dtds and bearing block upgrades. Does that mean that it comes with the delrin crap and the metal block that everyone says should be upgraded? I am all confused -Steve

The EVO comes with driven tail (DTDS with molded black gears) and 3rd bearing block (plastic).

Right. No Delrin. Heliproz is a little misleading in their ad. The EVO 50 comes standard with the dtds and bearing block. They are only upgrades from the standard Sceadu, not the EVO.

.

There, their and they're. It's really that simple.

I must have missed something . . . . I have yet to meet a soul that did not regard the Delrin gears as miles better than the plastic ones . . . . . ? ? ? ?

Delrin = white milled gears

black = plastic molded gears

marker beacon is spot on my NIB evo did not come with the delrin gears. just DTDS, & plastic third bearing block

At one time the sceadu 50 came with delrin DTDS gears if it came from MRC/Altech. This was before the EVO came out.

i just did a 100.00 upgrade to the delrin gears which is supposed to quiet the gear noise i hope i wasnt mislead ? i could not take the gear growling the evo 50 was producing . i have not got to fly it yet but hope to this weekend . i was told the delrin would last the life of the heli

Helidad, you were not mislead. The Delrin gears are the better solution.

I replaced all 3 gears with delrin when I first built the kit - main, secondary and counter gear. That together with the metal radius block (and metal washout) and CX dampners were the main upgrades I felt were beneficial.

The CX base plate is a nice to have as are the c/f fins - reasonably cheap as a set, but does make dropping the engine more time consuming.
