Has anyone ever done a conversion of a Fury to electric. It doestn seem like it would take that much work. remove engine and build a platform for the motor, remove the bell housing assembly and get the teeth to mesh.

misskimo is his user ID.
His name is Tony and he is in AK.

The Ion is a direct result of a "Fury" conversion.

The difficulty in converting a Fury is the weight. It is a bit heavier and unless you are running it on 14s or something like that (Tony is doing that) it is kind of enemic in 3D performance compared to the Ion-X.
Now though with the less expensive CC HV controllers and the big Pletti and such I suppose you could convert one for a reasonable price and get decent performance out of it.

So I guess it all depends on what you want in the way of performance.
Myself I was considering converting mine to electric for camera ship work but in the end figured it was more cost effective to just get an Ion.

You can buy the conversion kit to make a Fury into an Ion also.

Thanks
That is what I need to know. Is it doable at a decent cost. I am just starting 3d stuff but do not forsee anything great in the near future so I may not need extreme (90style)power. Maybe comparible to a 70 or something. Anyway I would also be interested in this conversion kit. Where do you puchase it and how much? thanks for the reply.
