I am finally completing my camera ship. My R50 is ready to convert.

My question is which motor is best?
I am NOT using this for 3d so I want PURE ENDURANCE!!!

I have narrowed it down to two motors to give me long flight times.
The Neu 1515 2y with "the box"
or the Actro 24-5 with my own mount

Any help would be great! I have asked a few others with out geting my question answered.

I think I will be using the Jazz 55-10-32 and 10s4p

I've got the boxed Neu motor on one of my eRapp50's and I don't think it's an endurance setup. This setup is HOT! It's all performance. It definately feels like it has the power to lift a camera. Maybe if you could dial the head speed down and find some flat bottom blades for lifting it would work out. It definately doesn't have the heating problems that my eRapp 50 with the Hacker did. The thing runs really cool. Almost too cool. The packs barely get into their working heat range.

Thanks Chuck, I could just program my radio to make the headspeed less right?

Does anyone have the actro setup?

Yes, to a point. ESC's really like to run wide open. When you start turning them down, the ESC starts to heat up. I'm not sure how far you could safely turn down a 55-10-32 before it runs too hot. The Kontronic ESC is in my opinion one of the best ESC's out there. I have mine set at 80% and it still runs pretty cool. But then again, I'm only in the air for 8 minutes on my 10S2P.

No, esc's don't work via resistance. the more you turn it down, and more the fet's have to fire on and off, and the more the have to turn on and off, the hotter the esc.

Rhett..... I can't fly, but the Profi sure can.

Hello

Here is my setup.

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=426080

The flight times are very reasonable and I have lots of power to spare but I dont think this is the best setup for heavy lifting. It could just do the job you want depending on the camera size but Im not sure. All I know is I have all the power I need for 3D(just moved down from a 90 and Im not complaining about the power)

Hope this helps.

Hello

Most of the info you want is in the link I posted.

I get 14 min flight times of hovering, and 9-10 mins of mixed 3D and crusing around.

I havent compared it to a Neu setup, never seen one. I can compare it to a OS50 Hyper setup. It has similar power (possibly a little less), and I feel comfortable to do any manuver that Id do wtih my 90.

My mount was made by the previous owner. Its just 2 machined aluminum bars and a carbon plate with mounting holes (very simple).
