To help you out with the headcount, my wife will be attending with me as well (if the weather is favorable). So put me down for 2.

Directions and more hotel info
Here are a couple of hotels in Owasso. The Holiday Inn has an indoor pool. Owasso is about 20 minutes from the funfly (Bartlesville is 20 minutes from the funfly also...just north instead of south).

Best Western Owasso Inn & Suites
(918) 272-2000
(918) 280-3239
7653 N Owasso Expy
Owasso, OK 74055

Holiday Inn Express Owasso
(918) 274-4100
7551 N Owasso Expy
Owasso, OK 74055

Here are the directions.

If you are coming from east of Tulsa...come north on 169 highway (if you connect coming from highway 51 (Broken Arrow) then you need to go approximately 15.5 miles north on 169. Exit on 116th Street North (about 3 miles north of Owasso). Turn left (west) and go 5.5 miles to highway 75. Turn right (north) on highway 75. Go 11.5 miles. The driveway will be on the east side of highway 75. There will be a sign for the funfly. We are one mile north of Rocking M Ranch and 2 miles north of Jarrett Farm.

If you are coming from west of Tulsa (Oklahoma City, etc.) then you will go north on highway 75. If you come in on the turnpike then it will connect to 75 north just a little after you exit the turnpike. You will go past downtown Tulsa and keep heading north. From I-244 (which is immediately north of downtown Tulsa) it is approximately 24 miles. The driveway will be on the east side of highway 75. There will be a sign for the funfly. We are one mile north of Rocking M Ranch and 2 miles north of Jarrett Farm.

If you are coming from Bartlesville, go south on highway 75 thru Bartlesville. Go approximately 18 miles. We are 3 miles south of Ramona (Ramona is 15 miles south of Bartlesville). The driveway will be on the left (east) side of the highway.

Scott and I both will have our phones on during the funfly, so please call if you get lost or have any questions.

Thanks!

Scott & Jackie,
Total head count of "Team Gravity" if all of the kids come will be 14 of us.

Jackie,
I'm glad that you found us a place to stay with an indoor pool---now I'm sure that I will get no rest. Maybe I'll leave the sinus medicine at home, the wife will be with me this time.

Scott,
I figured out the problem with the Vigor CS. The problem was the original builder...... Its all making sense to me now....

WOW! That's about all I can say right now. 14!! That is great. We look forward to hosting all of you and I hope everyone is ready to have a great time.

You should DEFINITELY leave the sinus medicine at home...there should be NO naked women at this pool. ;-)

Scott is glad you finally figured it out. :-)

Kids at the fun fly
We've been getting a lot of response back about guys bringing their wives and kids to the fun fly and that is great. I wanted to let everyone know that we will have some teenagers available for on-sight kid-sitting (movies, games, etc...) if the wives want to go shopping or just to town. Since this is a fundraiser for the high school basketball team, we always make sure some of the girls are around to help out and we will be happy to set something up with whoever is interested (most of the girls have younger brothers and sisters, so they are used to taking care of kids). Anyway, just letting you know that it is available.

By the way...since we are selling raffle tickets to the general public (the girls on the b-ball team have their parents sell them), do you have a few brochures on the cabin that you could send me? Last year we had a few major non-heli prizes (like the cruise and a couple of gift certificates) and sold separate raffle tickets just for those prizes (it was hard to convince some of the parents that "yes, they really did need a Venture 30 helicopter...EVERYBODY needs one!"...it made it easier to let them buy tickets specifically for the non-heli items).

Anyway, I think the stay at the cabin is something that quite a few non-heli people would definitely be interested in. If you don't have any brochures, then I'll just print some stuff off the website and put it together for the girls to show around.

Thanks!

It was nice to meet you in Springfield Jackie, and I'll be there at months end for sure. Thanks for the great directions. For us Mapquest fans is there a physical address you can give us?

Hi Scott. It was very nice to meet you also. There is a physical address...36510 US Highway 75. However, when you Mapquest it, it confuses the program. Because the driveway butts up to the highway, it doesn't really "click" with the program. It will tell you to go north on highway 75 to W. 3400 Rd. (which is the county road directly north of the driveway about 1/2 mile) and then make a U-turn. So, if you get the directions from Mapquest, just remember that the driveway will be about 1/2 mile BEFORE you get to W 3400 Road and you'll be fine. If you do make it to the road then...well...just make a U-turn. :-)

See you there!

As the name states I am new to Heli flight. I am going to be there at least as a spectator. What are the hours of the event on fri sat and sunday? Will there be anyone there able to get me started in heli flight? If not I am sure that will make some new acquantances that may lead to learning this awsome sport. Thanks .

Ross,
Welcome to your new found hobby (soon to be addiction).
Scott & Jackie are out of touch for a few days but I will help you with what I know. There will be flying Fri. & Sat. up to dark and then some if I know these guys as well as I think I do. There will be many people at this type of get togother that will be glad to help you with getting your heli airborne. Your are never toooo novice to go to a funfly, we all started there and you will always learn things at each event no matter what level you are at. I will be there and will be helping a couple friends with a buddy box and I will be glad to do the same with you.
We look forward to seeing you there!

Hey Ross:

Do not show up there with the pre-set mind of just being a spectator. Go there with an open mind and absorb as much as you can. Bring your heli and get one of us to look it over. That is what some of us like the most, bringing more people into the hobby. If you have the chance then you even might be able to fly. You are never too green for a fun fly.

I'll be there Saturday morning as I have to travel from Kansas.

Thank you for the kind words. I look forward to the fly in and the new addiction. R/C is one hobby that over 8 years I have found has few barriers of any kind. Folks are always super friendly and willing to teach others. Thanks again.

Map Link Added
Hope this clears up any direction confusion. There will be signs and balloons on Highway 75. The driveway does meet Highway 75 and we are flying in a part of the land visible from the highway also.

A link to Ramona and surrounding cities

Here are the directions.

FROM EAST TULSA: From east of Tulsa...come north on 169 highway (if you connect coming from highway 51 (Broken Arrow) then you need to go approximately 15.5 miles north on 169.

FROM WEST TULSA: From west of Tulsa (Oklahoma City, etc.) then you will go north on highway 75. If you come in on the turnpike then it will connect to 75 north just a little after you exit the turnpike. You will go past downtown Tulsa and keep heading north. Scott and I both will have our phones on during the funfly, so please call if you get lost or have any questions. (918) 269-9492 or 857-9998.

Thanks!
