Did some shooting yesterday, we always run a video camera on our chopper, but I made a trigger and put my rebel on it for fun. My lens is a sigma 28-75mm, and at 28 its just too much yet.

Curious what size you use so you dont have to be in the stratusphere to see everything!

Hi Jetman,

I recently got my EOS 350 and 10-22 zoom, which is 16mm-33mm on 35mm format. This will give you roughly 105 deg FOV. Not bad eh?

Jetman,

I use a 20mm F2.8 prime most of the time on jobs that pay, but play around sometimes with the 10-22 and 17-40.

I would say if you had to pick one lens I would go with the 10-22 depending on your budget. It is expensive at 800 bucks.

The 20mm is more affordable and does a great job.

Maybe hit a local camera store and shoot some pics with a bunch of lenses and see what pics pop out at you.

I see you are in WA, if you wanna get together sometime and play with my gear feel free to drop me a PM

Take Care

Yeah, I was thinking a 10 or 15 prime myself.. Right now Im in the market for a 70-200 F2.8 IS USM for handheld shooting. But also will get a lesser expensive lens for the heli job.

Tab, Im up in Lynden/Bellingham area, I flew with you last year I think it was at the RAMS indoor electric fly in at the PBY hangers. I dont get down there too often anymore, since I moved north..

Thanks
