I was flying today and my R50 almost done just learning hovering nose in and as I was getting to ready to land their was a loud screeching sound that came from somewhere in the engine compartment or general area. I immediately landed and looked over all ok,, So I proceded to start it up and fly again but on throttle up the screeching sound returned. What is my problem,, clutch? bearing?

Thanks,
Richard

it's either the rear bearing of the motor or the pinion (attached to clutch bell) is worn out where it fits into the pinion bearing.

I got a fever! The only prescription is MORE 6HV

My guess is pinion bearing.

Thanks Guys for your input. I am replacing the pinion bearing first. Any helpful hints other than raptor technique?

Thanks,
Richard

Yup, buy a tool known as "The Greaser", and grease the new pinion bearing, and all other bearings during rebuilds.
