My Evo 50 has an unexplained tail vibration that I simply cannot get rid of. Replaced main blade bolts, all shafts, dialed fan, tuned needles, trached paddles, etc.

Then, I recently noticed a whirring sound while in a hover. I know it isn't the gear train, as I JUST upgraded to the delrin set, complete.

I have many cases of fuel through the OS 50.

I tried to install a mp2 loud, but couldn't get it tuned. Come to find out the one way bearing was cracked and slipping. Hard to tune an engine with a bearing that doesn't hold!! Engine did overspeed a few times until I hit the hold (quickly). Bearing is replaced and now running the hatori sb-15 muffler again.

Still have a bad boom vibration.

Can a rear bearing cause this vibration and whirring noise? If the sound became evident on the last flight, can I safely replace just the rear bearing and be back in business, or will I have to replace front and rear + other engine parts?

it is possible that the rear bearing could cause a vibration of sorts,i had the same whirring noise from my os 61 engine, but when i removed the engine and turned the crank, the bearing felt and sounded smooth,no noise.when re-attatched the clutch, the the bearing was noisy again.turned out the crank was pushing tight against the front bearing due to a washer missing.the same thing happened to my os70,but this time the crank partially seized on the bearing and had to be freed up and a washer inserted before it would run again

I've got exactly the same problem, just can't shake off the vibration. I'm gradually renewing everything. Just ordered the delrin gear set complete hoping this would finally cure it, maybe not!!!.
