i think its prety cool....hey you only live once so enjoy it!

also, i hope it accelerates more than 1g because thats what your feeling right now...
1g=your body weight
2g=2times your body weight etc etc

Hi Al,

Heli's and this PulseJet car are very safe believe it or not. In fact there's no way in the world that either of them will hurt anybody just sitting there. Engineering aside, once you put a human there to start it and control it and run the throttle, it's a whole different story. Unless engineers have some sort of control over the operator.

That said, I wouldn't run it at 150 without some major modification, but that's up to the human that's controlling it to decide!

corey11>>You don’t feel that against the back of the seat, 1G = 1times my body weight pushed against the back of the seat.

You feel 1G when you are standing still.

Yes that’s right, then one g is on your back, now remember how your back feels when lying like that, that’s what 1g is like when accelerating in a car seat.
When your sitting in a car there is no g's on your back until the car starts moving.

1g is 1 times your body weight pushing against something, when your standing your back is not pushing against something.

Most cars out there today cant pull one g of acceleration

1 g is 1 g, you feel 1 g when you are standing still.......... your engineering/physics is mis-understood. be careful with that car, that 'role' bar will not protect you at 50 mph, let alone 150. That thing looks like its going to explode or fall apart, its cool, but has some signs of poor engineering. sorrrry...

I dont think so foo...

If a car can keep a constant acceleration of 1G down a ¼ mile track it will be doing around 200mph at the end, not really standing still is it?

Acceleration is a vector meaning, meaning it has components in the x,y and z direction. Someone standing on the Earth is feeling 1G in the Z direction, and 0Gs in the X and Y directions.

The coordinate system is defined as Z through the top of your head, and X and Y to the right and front.

Daz is perfectly correct in his claim that his cart could produce 1G in the X or Y direction.

Remember that F=ma. Gravity is your 'a' in the Z direction and the force it produces is resisted by the floor or whatever you happen to be standing on.
If you had an acceleration of 1G in the X or Y you'd need forces in those directions to resist your motion.

Bottom line: Acceleration is a vector, gravity is in the Z direction & Daz has his physics correct.

Just be safe about what you are doing thats all. We don't want to hear...A Kiwi was cooked today by a pulse jet while traveling at 150mph. How about some vids! w/sound would be cool. A fellow Kiwi, Bruce Mclaren once said...click on link.

HEHE.... I did 8.5 G's when I had my incentive ride in an F-15E....what a blast....I started to get tunnel vision near the end of it.

That car looks pretty fun to play with.

Remember when flying inverted that down is up and up is EXPENSIVE!
