True about the pilot. But it's nice to know that our EVO50 can kick b*tt.

Thanks Anuong!.. I flew on many windy days.. I feel sorry for those plankers (airplane flyers) they got to sit and watch you enjoy your day while their day is gone waiting for the wind to subside or die down..

Been having fun with the Raptor50SE.. soon I'll post a video on last sunday's flight..

Hi All!

Glad to hear someone is flying. Looks nice and windy. Tell the video guy to zoom back a bit so they wouldn't lose the heli.

Hey Naomi... Now you made me wonder! What do you think is acceptable windspeed to fly?

I got around 30km/h (20mph) wind the other day and I only hovered a tank because I was afraid engaging into FF and damage the bird. I could really feel the wind hitting the heli.

Thx

Tony

B.T.D.T. Well I think the video guy was also an amateur on videocam.. To be fair I think he done a nice job for the first few takes. I think he did zoom in too much though and lost it.. the further you zoom on video cam I find it's a lot more sensitive to small movement rather than very little zoom. My digital zoom is like 1000 X he must have use half of that.

Tony, don't be 'fraid.. just fly the bird.. with good headspeed, you won't have to worry about the wind buffetting your heli, though it would be a bit more sensitive to your control though. Practice more wind on the sim that would help your reflex as well..

Its not only with my reflexes I'm worried about... I really hate that "speeding up till warp drive" when I go downwind... always afraid to turn with conviction with all that speed built up.

Do it slow and always be prepared, you know it's going to be a lot faster on the downwind leg. Doing it with Finesse is the key.

Remember "helicopters beats the wind into submission" slogan

Raptor50SE Video or EVO50 2006 Funfly Video ( I think you're referring to the EVO50.. Anuong, It was a pretty windy day.. 45Km of wind It was very challenging indeed to fly.. It does take lots of finger dancing to keep the heli in control , since I have been flying for many years.. experience does helped.. , though my skills is not as good as I would like to be. I sure hope soon will catch up my flying skill with some younger bucks!(Pilots that is)

Check out how windy it is on this funfly game.. Bowling Pins and Hoola Hoop Video

Hi all

I went flying today. Due to wind conditions and a broken remote glow extension I didn't fly too long but it was enough for a friend to take some pics. Enjoy:

Thx Naomi

No video sorry. Friend didn't bring his camera and I don't have one. Maybe next week.

Evo still in pieces... but I have the RC Screw kit and a new pair of blades so I just need to order the rest of the stuff.

Thought it was about time to chime in..

No flying here since last weeks funfly (busy with work and weather not good).

Hi again

BTDT: Actually only pic #5 was taken while inverted. The second and third ones were taken during a tail stand, the fourth was taken during a backflip and the last one... Only god knows what I was doing..

AirFlex: The blue... oh the blue... the truth is you don't see squat! For now I havn't had any suprises and I actually can say its helping my flying because I have to trust my fingers instead of watching the apparent position of bird.... time will tell

My friends loose perspective though and sometimes can't tell if I'm going towards them or away from them

Tony, maybe it's time for a brighter color paint for that Freya Canopy.. (*Hint! Hint!) It blends into the sky perfectly as of now..

Thanks AirFlex.. I love to edit and dub music for my videos.. glad y ou enjoy them..

B.T.D.T. Sorry to hear you have T-Storm down there.. maybe tomorrow is a better day for you for flying. I just burnt 4 tanks on my Raptor50SE, Nice and Calm under overcast sky at my neighbourhood. Got a few spectators enjoyed my flights..

Cheers,
Naomi
