What has a header (read bubble trap) to do with leaning out in mid flight? That device didn't fix my problem back then...

Hi All,

The Shuttle will be back on the shelf since the EVO build is complete minus one engine. Took the hyper apart to check it and found the pistion ring has some stuff on it can can't rub it off. So I'm going to order the ring and wait for it. Should have done this earlier or just left it alone.

With 13 gallon thru it, it didn't look to bad. Only some surface rust color on top of pistion, wrist pin and on the bearing surfaces. The sleeve was stuck on the engine case, some stuff was bonding the two surfaces. Once removed I scraped off the outer sleeve and it now smooth back to the case.

So now i got to wait for my parts.

So how's everybody doing?

BTW the weather here is too cold anyway.

Hi All!

How's it going?

This slip to the third page. I guess none of us is flying these days.

My EVO is almost ready. Still need to setup the RevMax and install the SB50. Still need to make a bracket for it. I will not drill the frame to mount it.

The engine is rebuilt with a new ring and all ready to go.

So anuong,
Moving for good or just for work?

Just got my flashing LED tonight and tested it and looks good. Soon to be mounted on the XRB.

No flying for me

Big storm here. In the last month it always rains during the weekend or I get 30+ mph winds here. I'm starting to think the Wether is doing this on purpose.

I got alot of gadgets in the last weeks since I take revenge on internet shopping when I can't fly.

I'm afraid I won't remember squat when I pick up the heli again... gonna have to learn everything again... oh well

How are you guys doing?

Hello CrazyJoe,

About 120 flights or 13 gals of fuel. Since the last crash was sideways into the dirt, and dirt was all over the side. I figure it's better to be safe and inspect the internals incase it ate dirt. Some orange/rust built up on top and sides of the pistion and was easy to remove by rubing it and some hard crust stuck on the ring so I just replaced the ring.

How's your EVO's coming along?

Hi All!

I know that the weather is different around the world, I was trying to round up the guys around here.

Five weekends of bad weather really sucks. I know the feeling. I myself haven't been flying either. Right know it's forcast for showers on Friday.

CrazyJoe,
EVO's not ready yet. I'll wait till the end of the week. It'll be 15 to 20 degrees warmer too.

Your EVO ready yet?

Hi All!

Have to vent. I finally have all my parts to mount my muffler the other day. Installed a new ring on the engine. Last night I installed the magnet on the fan and balanced it today. I was mounting the clutch and dialing in the shaft. Was having a hard time getting it right. Was out by .010 when turning the other direction it was worse.

When I was inspecting the engine last week I was thinking about to replace the bearings when I was ordering the pistion ring. Now it looks like the rear bearing is shot? Stuck my finger in the back of the engine and was able to move the crank shaft up and down and saw the .010 movement.

I was planning to have fun tomorrow.

Now need to order the damn bearings.

I'm so piss, I'm thinking about just slapping it together and just fly it till I get the rear bearings. Or if it vibrates too much, I'll stop.

Crazy Joe,

That's what I'm going to do tomorrow, if the weather is nice. Just finished slapping the motor and clutch together and wired up all the servos and finished the plumbing. Just need to check radio setup tomorrow morning and I'm off to the fields.

Radio is on charge. I'm ready.
