Hi All!

Anybody flying? I went out the other day to test fly my shuttle but had other problems on the field so came home with testing her. Tonight I got the mainshaft algin just the way it should. Took a little too long but what the hey.

LOOPS, ROLLS anyone.

It started to snow here and it's sticking good. Forcast is for 6 to 12 inches and just checked now it's updated for 10 to 16 inches. I hope they're wrong.

No flying around here. I'm still on a buying spree though

Seems that each time weekend approaches it starts to rain bugger. Going to try out new fuel this saturday (if weather allows it).

Cheers
Tony

Hi All!

Finally we had some good weather today. I started up my Shuttle FZ and with the mechanical gryo and had to fight the tail a little. I need to adjust the Revo Mix. Boy how one missed a head holding gryo.

I took off and landed today on paved ground. The shuttle did hover very steady and no vibrations. Only did two short hover to test her out. When I land and spool down and near the end it hops and shakes bad.

So packed up and went home. I guess i should work on my EVO and put the Shuttle back on the shelf.

anuong,
Wraping you heli in a bag is a good idea only if you have a desiccant pack in the bag to remove moisture.

tchavei,
Stop buying stuff and burn your new fuel.

No misshaps since I didn't go out flying. Horrible Wind gusts and rain here during the weekend.

I'm afraid I already forgot how to fly... bugger.

Have to clean up my workshop... its a mess but I also suffer from lack of motivation.

I was looking for a small cnc machine so I could make some simple parts but it seems this is a complicated issue... either too expensive or they don't do what your want. Maybe I'll just forget it.

How are you guys doing?

Tony

Hi All!

tchavei
Cleaning your workshop for your new CNC machine. If you get one I need some parts . Go fly your Esky and have some fun.

I just started to play with my XRB the other day and really enjoy it and now I have the motivation to get back to building the EVO. It's almost halfway done.

Weather turned cold again. So when I finish building the EVO I hope the weather gets warm for a day.

anuong,
Glad to hear one of us is flying these days.

We need to start flying again guys and share our progress.

I saw the thread the other day on CNC machines and I want one too. There is so much to learn on milling stuff and this will be another expensive hobby.

Hi All,

Boy was it cold today. Got out a flight today with my Shuttle. She hovers very steady and now spools down without any problems on the grass. Only problem was half tank it started to lean out.

All new fuel and clunk line, plug and filter. I read some where about engines running lean after half tank. Got to search about that. Forgot what's it call unflow or something like that.

Hi BtdT

This is a common issue with the 40E carb. Which carb are you using right now?

One good way to solve the problem is by trial and error. I used to have those problems because I had to lean out the needles when engine was cold or it wouldn't hold a steady idle... then during the flight when the engine would get to normal operation temperature those settings would be too lean. Richening the idle needle and raising the idle a couple (and sometimes alot more) of clicks solves usually the problem. Engine with those carbs like a high idle to work good at cold temp with rich needle settings.

Uniflow is cool but I don't like the fact that sometimes you get a little fuel into the exhaust..

Great you have flown

Tony
