If anyone knows, please help me put my larger main gear into my predator gasser. I have the 92tooth gear, but am not sure what to adjust to make it fit correctly....Please help if you can! Nothing is seeming to jump out at me.

I've only had the pleasure of working with a couple of different main gear/pinion gear ratios, and my main gear wasn't quite that big. The thing I noticed was that the spacing of the bearing block holes in the frames line up much better for some combinations than others.

I have a set of tiny round files that have seen a lot of action grinding out the oval holes in the frame to get a little more adjustment. If it's not the mesh causing an issue, it's the main gear hitting the frames. I just put tape and paper towels around all the bearings and things I don't want coated with carbon dust and start filing. So far it has worked out well but it takes some time to get everything right. I'd say the mesh and clutch bell / starter shaft alignment is probably my LEAST favorite part of building a Predator. I guess I just need more practice.

I have heard hearsay that carbon fiber is very harmful to the lungs when it it machined, filed, etc. Is there any good info out there on that? I have occasionally reworked g10 pieces, etc, and have been concerned. Would wet grinding take care of that risk?
