I will most likely receive my Revlock tomorrow, and have a couple of questions.....

First of all, I have never owned a Governor before, and have just started Looping/Rolling with my Raptor50 v2.

Which is the easiest way of setting the remote gain. I have noticed the gyro sens menu is Aux2, and i read another thread (http://www.runryder.com/t145455p1/?...=revlock+AND+9x) where one guy recommended using the gyro sens menu to set the RPM. I already use the gyro sens for my Gyro, so i guess that option is out of the question.

I have set Aux4 to follow my flight mode switch now, and have been wondering how i can do this.

To me(being young and a beginner) it seems possible to use sub trim(so the value will not be 0 in flight mode 1) and ATV on Aux4 to set the RPM. So that the ATV in normal mode is +- 10% from the middle(governor off), and 15250rpm(just under 1800 hs) for flight mode 1.....

Am i thinking in the right direction? Or am i totally lost? Suggestions/corrections are welcome....

Thanks.

Hi xibit

Yes you can set the RPM like you have suggested using an offset of subtrim to achieve the desired speed in Flight-Mode-1 and adjust the low / high ATV for normal and flight mode-2. The only point to be aware of is that if you change the rpm of Idle-up 1, it will also change the values of Normal and Idle-up 2. So be sure to re-adjust the ATV's to suit.

Once you have recieved your revlock and are in the setting up process, it will be very easy to test / adjust the values because the unit displays rpm via a very easy to understand series of lights that accuratlety indicate the target rpm.

I also have a JR 9X, so If you have any probs, feel free to jump back on here or PM me...

Hi, So if you set NORM as gov OFF, (ie in the middle of the servo travel) you do that by pushing the BOTTOM ATV to the middle?

then the subtrim will be up in the + ATV region to set a headspeed? and the +ATV will be 0 if i want it to be the same speed as the SUBTRIM? ie you dont set any headspeeds in the negative ATV region? and you cant have a higher RPM in idleup 2 than in idleup 1? (not that really is a problem since i want both idleup1/2 the same headspeed)

How did you guys set all this up? Just did it with an optical TACH?

i wish i could just set servo positions like if I used AUX2 and the GYRO SENS menu, but i still want that for the gyro.... (not that i really jump out of heading hold mode)

Thanks guys

To set it normal as off i just set the Revlock with no led's lit in mode A(Range 0 on the RPM selector chart), since mode A was in normal mode.

I think this is safer than setting the atv in the +/- 10% region(revlock off), so it will not engage the revlock if you change the headspeed with sub trim, but forget to change the - ATV......

Yes that's what i did with the sub trim to set the headspeed, and yes, +atv set to 0 so flight mode 1&2 are the same. This can of course be changed if you want another HS in flight mode 2...

To get the desired headspeed, use the RPM selector chart(link: http://www.rcmodels.org/csm/RevLockAtAGlance.pdf).
So if you have a Raptor 50, the gear ratio is 8.5. Let's say you want a headspeed of about 1800......Then you take 1800 * 8.5 = 15300. On the RPM selector chart you see that this will be in range 3, 15250(about 1793 HS). Just check that the correct led's are lit, and you are good to go.

In my example, none of the 4 speed led's should be lit in normal mode, and led 2 and 4 should be lit in flight mode 1 & 2...

Good luck

xibit, thank you so muich for the replies..

sorry for the confusion.. but i actually am installing a RevMax... which sounds similar anyway (with the -atv and +atv to set headspeeds)

I'm unsure of the Mode A settings because i think thats specific to the CSM...

but its much clearer now thank you.

Since i want to run the same headspeed in idleup 1 and 2 it shouldn't be a problem.

Since i dont have that Mode A setting i think i'm going to have to pull the -ATV up so that it is in the REVMAX OFF area....... i th ink it is less of a problem with the RevMax since it only limits and i could technically have it engaged in normal and spool up....

Do you find you always set the subtrim FIRST? to get the desired headspeed in IDLE 1? then adjust the 2 ATVs accordingly for NORM and IDLE 2?

the ATVs are dependant on the subtrim, is this correct? so pull the Subtrim up to 1900HS then the -ATV will equal the amout i went up, so its at middle servo position? and the +ATV will be 0?

Thanks again xibit, i think i understand it now.

if only you could set it like the GYRO SENS auto menu... that would make life easier
