Just purchased a used T-Rex. It came with an Align RX6 receiver. It was set up for Futaba TX. Before I start disassembling this. Does anyone know if the receiver is switchable or compatible with JR TX or do I need to purchase another receiver to use a JR TX?

The Align 6ch receiver if just a very basic 6ch PPM receiver.

If your Jr tx sends plain PPM there should be no problem.

It is pretty glitchy, though.

I would sell it and get a Berg or similar, even one of the new Hyperion recievers that use Berg/Schulze tecnology. In the long run it may save you cash in repair bills

Check out the items I have for sale in the clasifieds including a CSM 420

ModFlyer - Watch Out:

I'm not absolutely sure about the Align Rx you have, but JR & Futaba Tx's & Rx's are not compatable. Futaba uses "negative" shift frequency modulation & JR uses "positive" shift. I run a Futaba 9Z with a Hitec Rx in my T-Rex (the "Electron" 6 ch. model). This Rx comes in both neg/pos versions but the individual Rx's are not switchable between brands. You must have a Rx that is compatable with your Tx so double check the manual (or Align's website) for details.

Hope this helps.

Mod sorry I couldn't answer the question about whether or not it supports JR but I can vouch that its not glitchy as stated above.. never got one glitch off of it.. Glitchy depends on where u locate your electronics around your high draw stuff (motor, esc, battery, etc) the configuration i put on that heli has proven over and over again to be glitch free. I will talk to stephen at dream hobbies about the rcvr supporting jr it may be a switch or jumper to get to positive shift or it may not support it. but he will have the answer. I bought all the parts for the TREX from him

If you like your T-rex get a different receiver.

It is very glichy! Last time I was at the flying field I had 4 flights without problems.

But the last flight and it glitched BIG TIME. I'm using channel 64 and one of de the other guys switched on a FF9 tx on ch 62. Could be bad channel separation in the electronics. Everytime I fly it I have had gliches with this receiver.

BTW. I have of course put the rec wire opposite the motor wires. Put a ferrite ring aswell! Done all the tricks.

I think I found the problem which caused all (or most) of the glitches.

My Futaba FC18 had a bad connection where the power plug is soldered into the Power PCB. I found out because the tx wouldn't switch on.

I've been very lucky not to loose any models!

So maybe the Align rec isn't that bad after all
