Building my first (Pred)gasser, it will be for AP not 3D. I'm hesitant to follow the directions as far using Loctite where the bearings meet the shafts and bearing seats, particularly in the tailgear box. Seems like it would cause future headaches disassembling/maintance/replacment and possibly contaminate bearings. It seem like they will function fine without threadlock, the fits are quite tight.
On the .30s I have built, I liked to assemble with little thread lock, run a tank or two on the ground, then disassemble the drivetrain and inspect. Then reassembling with threadlock , I'm confident I have a good parts fit and I check if any ball links need sizing etc., after some break-in. Not sure if this is really the way to go but it gives me a (false?) sence of security
Anyways, I was wondering if anyone had experiences, good or bad not "welding" the tail bearings in place. I'm tempted to omit this step,
at least initially.
