I managed to lose the collar to the cnc rotor hub.....

I found out that Century only sells the collar with the rotor hub, so don't lose it...it will be a $23.95 mistake! (cost of part# CNE303, cnc rotor hub and collar)...unless anyone out there knows where to get a small collar that would work...maybe a small zip tie?

Thanks,
Dan

You'd be better off making one out of a aluminum slug and buying a small M2 tap to make hte hole.

You know the CP hummingbird has the same dimensional headblock, but doesn't have that lock collar and the bottom. It just uses the pin to hold it into place. I would just try that without the collar. Put a dap of CA on the pin end to make sure it doesn't slide out.

I think Century added the collar at the bottom for safety reasons and to keep the headblock locked to the shaft better for more precision.

My two cents...

The CP and Pro hubs are not the same, when you buy the CP HUB all you get is the hub, when you buy the Pro's hub. You get the assembly below. The CP hub doesn't inc. the locking collar, this is highly needed for the Pro.

CP

Pro.

The Hub on the pic above, has been updated. If you check out the Pro's hub, it has slits in the bottom, this is for locking purposes.

(The HUB's themselves) are the same in every way; except the slices at the bottom for the collar on the 3pro one. Just want to let people know the that both of the hubs are compatable, and will work the same with the rotor system. Don't try and save money by getting the CP one. I would get the 3Dpro head block kit for even the CP and FP elite.

The headspeed that some pilots are running is way above the stock headspeed of 2300 rpm. The pin in the center acts as the Jesus bolt, in our case it's the Jesus pin for the Pro. Constant pumping of the pitch. I'm afraid that the pin will come off, and the outcome won't be pretty. Please for what's it's worth CNE303 is a safe insurance.
