I just bought my first heli, after about 17 years of fixed wings. The heli is a completely stock Ornith (except for a Zimmerman muffler).
I haven't flown it yet though.
On the sim I have made quite a bit of progress after about 30 hours. Basic aerobatics are no longer a problem: rolls, loops, flips, inverted and backwards flying seem to go really well. I still make the occasional bad call when flying backwards while inverted though.
I am sure it is just a matter of "unlearning" the fixed wing reflexes... that's the hard part.
Now, the problem is, how much of this can the Ornith take without breaking apart?
If I slap on some carbon blades, will that be enough for the basic stuff?
What else do I need for a little more action? I think I read on here somewhere that the JR Venture and JR Voyager also are fit for donating some parts.
I don't plan on going all the way with this thing though (when it comes to upgrades that is).
The Compass Knight 50 will probably be my next one, since it is much better equipped stock.
So what can I do to liven this thing up a bit!?
