I ordered my Trex today. Decided to go with the all metal 120 degree swash and a DIY eCCPM conversion. Looks like the best bang for the buck in a motor is the 400dh so that's what I'm planning on using. I have a couple of questions:

1) For those using the 400dh, what is the ESC of choice? I see on the just go fly website they recommend the CC25, but it looks like from various threads here that a lot of people have problems with it. What do you guys flying the 400dh recommend for a good bang for the buck ESC?

2) Anyone flying the 400dh on more than 3s battery packs?

400DH
I've been using Align's 25A speed controller for my 400DH. Been using for as long as I had my Rex, about 5 months. No problems.

TrexZ28,
Are you using the BEC in the Align 25A ESC or are you using an external BEC? I've heard that 4 servos + gyro may be right at the current limit (maybe over?) for the built in BEC. I'll be using HS56 servos and 401 gyro.

I'm using the Align25A BEC. Sounds like you are planning the exact same setup I am running now. HS56s and a GY401. I probably have not run into problems with my setup because I don't do any 3D flying. Still pretty new to helis. I mostly do FFF, hovers and have done a few loops. So I don't think I push my setup too hard to run into probs. Others out there may have stated they have no problems with this setup regardless of the type of flying they do. I hope I remember correctly on that.

I use the align 25 with the 400dh with no problems at all, beat the crap out of the poor heli for 10minutes at a time, had a cc25 in it nothing but problems with it shutting down all the time, no fun when ff inverted flight, but I may have had it set up improperly, people on here say to disable the cutoff.
