Hi all

Have you ever noticed how 2nd Hand Heli's adverts say 'only had two or three gallons through them' or 'just run in'.

Seams to be alot of quality kit out there that no one wants to own (Not).

You never see an advert for good runner,55 Gallons, crashed 4 times and stripped the Pitch servo. Otherwise in reasonable condition (after complete rebuild).

Don't get me wrong, I'd buy second hand, after I'd seen it and looked it over.

Any links to some real battered up heli's for sale, lets have a laugh

Now that you mention it. I have a Raptor 50V2 with an OS50SX (not Hyper) with a Supertiger carb on it. Engine has about 42 gallons on it. The airframe although not original has the same amount of time.

It has been crashed about 4 times. It flys perfect. I actually tried to kill it the other day and the engine just keeps going and going.

Please make offer. Airframe only no electrics.

I just bought a Spectra Gasser out of the classifieds here. I was skeptical at first for sure. After talking to the seller at length about it I decided to go ahead with it. When it got here and I really looked it over it's exactly what he said it was. It looks like it's been flown but not beaten up. I'm sure there are some out there that have some bad stories about buying used online but mine came out good. That's the reason I've never bought anything off of Ebay though.

What Jaser7 is saying does have a certain variable validity. Some are meticulously honest, some are variably honest in thier classified posts then some are fully dishonest - a minority I would hope.

For years I would often see plank engines sold on RCO/RCU et. al. posted as follows:

"NIB - Just bench run." (He's confused about the term NIB which means just what you would find on the shelf at your LHS i. e. never been mounted and never seen fuel or added oil and has all the proper paper work and packing)

"New but Bench Run" - (Very hard to determine exactly how much use this obviously USED engine has on it).

For certain accessories like electronics, etc they can sometimes be put back into their respective boxes
after some use, if very clean, and sold as new/unused even NIB. This is not honest but I suspect it is sometimes done.

It is very difficult for nearly all of us to visually inspect every purchase prior to handing over the $$ so assitance and some reduction of buyers remorse can be obtained from the GoodGuys list but that is not fool proof either.

Steve every heli I got here on RR was exactly as listed
and BTW all were listed either new assembled not flown,
only a gallon threw or like new, I have been lucky
I don't need to buy a beater cause I can turn a new one
into one in a heartbeat

you gotta take what things say with a grain of salt. but learn to not distrust everything that you read either, I have bought many things from here and e-bay and only had one shaky deal that was not as it was listed. on the flip side I have sold lots of stuff too and always have listed it exactly as it was. I solt a pair of frames and one side was cracked and repaired, I listed it, and the buyer was fine with it...

No no no.... Ever heli I see on eBay always says

"Never crashed or landed hard"

And I just laugh... Especially when I know the person/heli up for sale.

I barely trust it when it says "New in box"
