I just got my Rex in the air yesterday after several hours of tweaking on the test stand. On my initial lift off I realized that my max pitch was way off (cheap guage) and would not even hover. I readjusted and got the pitch squared away with about 10degrees on max. My head speed is in the neighborhood of 2300rpms. Im running a CC35 esc on gov. high mode on the align 2800 brushless (fan cooled)...and adjusted the endpoints as described in numerous posts. My throttle curve is 0-90-90-90-90, when I first spool up the red light comes on (full throttle?) and the bird will lift but not very hard, and there is no way it could ever bail itself out of an incident. I was initially using the 13tooth pinion and decided to switch to the 15 to increase the head speed some, it made some difference by not alot. Oh yeah Im running TP 2100s. Am I just expecting too much out of this motor or is something not right. Any help greatly appreciated

2800 Align
Im running the same set up on mine with a 13t and running -10 to 10+ , mine does fine , its not a bear dog like some of the other motors. If you play with the atv on the throttle you might get some power when using the govoner mode . If you are running 100atv go up to 110 and see what happens . this is only on throttle .

My 400SF does just fine. Full throttle, it climbs like a NYC elevator. I would definitely recheck the pitch.

What does your pitch curve look like? I have that setup with the 13tooth pinion and mine jumps off the ground pretty well.

How did THAT get in there?

I tried the 400sf 13t with the align blades and climb out was pretty impressive. As Pet Stated check your pitch agian. Try 100% and the end point. And Gov... doesn't seem to work too well with the 400sf. Try Fixed Mode

I'm running 13t 2800sf CC35 tp2100 with CC ver 1.2 and high gov and it flys better than any 30 I ever had and it's FFF is pretty damn good, vertical is near a 50 performance, I'm quite pleased but ordered a 400DH to try more power out, just because.

OK I switched back to the woodies, the 13 tooth pinion, got rid of governor mode and went to a throttle curve like 0-40-60-90-100 and it is a thousand times better...I think I am using all the motor has now head speed is pretty constant and climb out is similar to my rappy 30. I am really impressed this little bird flies great, very smooth, no vibrations at all, tail is rock solid with gain at about 80% (tail was really jerky in gov mode)..Im satisfied for now is there a hotter motor to run with the 3 cell setup?...Thats next Im sure.
