Adrian, I agree a fantastic weekend, fantastic flying & the camaraderie between pilots was great to see, I don't think anyone is doubting it was a great event & all credit to those who organised it.

But why was the format changed at the last minute.

I was but a humble spectator, but just sitting behind the ropes I know of at least 2 competitors that were suprised when the "final" round was annouced.

It would be nice to know the reason for this change ?

TC This is the email that was sent to all the pilots prior to the event

"On the sunday, the plan for the day is as follows:

9.30 am - Tx Control Opens
10.00 am - Pilots, Callers, Judges Flight Briefing
10.30 am - Competition Begins - Starting with Clubman PYO (Set Man'vreRound)
1.00 pm - Lunch - Demo Flights from Sponsors/Guest Flyers
2.00 pm Competition Re-starts - Clubman DIY (Freestyle Round)
3.30 pm Competition Ends
Raffle, into Result/Prize Giving
Victory Flight

As with all these types of events, all times are approximate. Depending on
how the day goes, we may decide to have a fly off, with the top 5 for
example"

Learn by mistakes ? Its only been the first one ! come on phil844, give them a chance for C****T sake.
I am sure from everyones input, things will be ironed out for the next one.

(better be, as if I get my way, I will hopefully be down for bit of dodgy flying In the comp myself, time will tell though )

Well done though to all involved. Another UK event , that can only mean 3D in the UK is going from strength to strength, nice one

Ryan.

hi.
Well done to Ade for pitching in.
And thanks for Biggen for posting for a second time I have seen it, clearly saying there might be a fly off.. All competitors got that.

it was his first event. The comp was ran so slick, and the competitors were right there when needed. Well done and great effort from both competitor and organisers.

They had no idea how the event would run. What pit falls might occur. So the 'option' was clearly stated that it MIGHT have a fly off.
This 'might' was purley relative to time as I understood it.
(I put " as I understood it" as I was not involved in the structure of the event.)

If time ran short due to rain, or problems with their first comp,, it would have to be scrapped. After all, they have never done such an event before. So cut them some slack guys.. please?

All the suggestions being made to motivations must be really anoying those who made this comp happen. Quite frankley the two threads running are beginning to spoil the whole atmosphere around such a great event.

I notice some serious not so "sublte hints" of the judging the comp being rigged by the running of the fly off and another saying in their opinion the wrong person won.

Will I judge again? Will john and Paul with those sort of comments?

50 ish weeks till the next one, IF Biggen does not get so peed off and thinks... why bother..
one guy even said that having three round is CRAP.. really.. 'crap' was it.??

I commend the whole event.
next click for me is "unsubscribe".. upsetting to see the comp getting some real kickings at base level.
Si
