As luck would have it, I also have the Hitec 335. A great little field charger, but mine let the 'smoke' out after more than 2 years of use. I'm sending it in for repairs when able. Worked good up 'til then.

Try Dymond also. My brother has a 'Turbo' charger (get it?) that works fine, but I don't know if they still make it. There's lots of chargers out there, so you have some shopping to do!

Flying helis since gyros had springs.

Where can I find info on this Dymond charger (website)?

What to you mean, let the smoke? Did it fry a battery or itself? What was the cause?
Otherwise is it a great charger?

Yes I know that there are tons of chargers out there, but I don't want to spend a fortune. Less than 150 would be nice, 200 max.

Here is the dymond chargers page.

I own the previous version of the x-peak and like it alot. I use it more than my isl 6-330 due to its ease of use.

Looks like a nice charger. They have a fairly cheap power supply, too! I might look into one of these. Only one output, though?

Yah, they only have one output. My Schultz isl 6-330 has two outputs but the second output is a joke. You have to tun off the charger to set the battery type and charge rate for the second output. And the charge rate is limited to 300ma for lipos. They also didn't bother to put a second button on the charger so you have to go through this song and dance routine just to use the second output.

If you really want a second output you might try looking at the Hobbico Quick Field Charger (dc input) or Hobbic Accu-Cycle Elite Battery Cycler (AC/DC input). I dont have first hand experience with either. I would recommend you double check the max charging current for each port.

My recommendation is that you get yourself a charger that can handle lipos (at least 3s at 2amp charge). You might not need it today but you might want to get yourself a small electric heli (trex, shogun, etc) in the near future and you will need that lipo charger. Go with a DC charger and buy a cheap power supply. Heck for the price of one Accu-Cycle you can almost get two Quick Field chargers and a power supply. Can you say Quad Output
