I'm running a Raptor 50 / OS 50 at an intermediate flying ability (just hovering and forward flight) and the engine is running great. As I get more daring I'm doing fast vertical climbs and drops however if I try this 3 times in a row (first two don't seem to impact the engine/rotor speed) but on the third time the engine bogs down and I loose rotor speed.

I'm using 30% CP and running a GV-1 @1850 RPM when I'm doing the climbs. The high speed needle setting is 1-1/4 turn out which has been great for easier flying habits.

Is the engine starving for fuel or should I have a higher blade RPM?

Also, the engine does not idle very well after a flight - Should I richen the low needle?

Any advise would help!

Thanks!

When was the last time ou chaged the plug?whats the idle needle set at?Its sounds like your head speed is not the problem.Do you have an inline fuel filter?Check it for crap in the filter.

Fuel filter is clean
Low speed needle is in the middle
OS8 plug is new

I'm guessing the GV is backing off the throttle during decent and then the engine has a hard time coming up to speed again quickly...

Do the pinch test after landing. Feel the back cover also. My guess is your low is lean. Keep in mind, small adjustments make big differences. It's easy to go too far the other way.

My Rap OS50 sxh has a tendency to do that also, with the GV1 limits
set per the instructions.
I set my idle limit a bit higher than idle by moving the throttle stick up slightly when setting and this helps keep the throttle from closing too
far.
