I have been having problems in XTR where the nose slowly turns to the right. I keep having to add in rudder to correct to keep it straignt.

My 7CHF is setup so I have AVCS (HH) in all flight modes with a sensitivity of 80%, all trims are centered, throttle curve in normal flight mode is at 60% at half-stick

I've gone through the the Center Channel Calibration and Channel 5 comes up with no response.

help

So far I've not been happy with the flying in XTR, I'm more apt to go fly my Hawk Sport which in comparison seems much easier to fly.

Open the channel display window (hit F8) and verify that the rudder and gyro channels are setup and calibrated correctly (try reversing the gyro channel in the Assign Channels window). Also make sure you don't have any revo mix enabled on the radio and that the model you are flying is using an HH gyro (piezo-integral).

Most folks having trouble configuring their radio / computer to work with any sim tend to lean towards the same conclusion as you. Give it time and have a bit more patience. In time, you'll understand it better and be able to make models fly close to what you feel is accurate.

not changing my Tx's settings, I opened up the Model Param for the 60-zie trainer I'm using, switched from the Piezo to Piezo-Integral gyro, and set Gyro Sensitivity to 80% down from 100% (matches my Tx's setting).

I tried it like that and there was a improvement. In the Channel Display, the percentage for channel 5 was a negative percent.. I reversed Channel 5 in the Channel Assignment setup and now it is a positive number. In flight it seems a lot more solid with no wagging as of yet.

Another I'm wondering .. should the percentages for throttle and cyclic controls max out at 100% at the extremes of the stick position?

.. and thank you for helping me get a handle on the gyro setup. It has been driving me nuts and I actually had the same problem with my real heli lol .. the problem with that was that since I changed over to AVCS in all flight modes I forgot to turn off revo mixing for my normal mode.. so it was fighting itself and driving constantly... I haven't had chance to fly due to weather but I'm hoping the tail is now rock solid.. less work for me, more focus on hovering

When you calibrate the radio in XTR, all channels should be set with ATVs at 100, centered where possible, sub-trims and trims at 0. The throttle should be set to mid-stick and you should be using a linear curve from 0-100%.

Also - calibrate with the gyro gain set to 50%
(and make sure you don't have any offset values programmed it the tx)

i got that all set and it works a lot better. just a lil bit more fine tuning and i'll actually be able to fly instead of fight the simulator.

thanks for everyone's help...
