After some "messures" with a stop watch and some help from a flying pal, we calculated that my heli had a avarange speed of 199km/h or about 117MPH our I think.

I was taking a dive before i flew about 200 meters straight ahead before we was starting our stop-watch and stoped it after 120meters. (We used 100 meters when we calculated the speed, since we used some time to push the buttotns)

I know our helis is quick, but are they really goeing that fast?

Yes. I know of some individuals clocking a .90 size chopper at 115mph... So no, your brain is not playing tricks on you and good math never lies.

yes this sounds about right.
in australia a few years back they had a speed competeition.
the fastest speed was about 185km/h if i remember right. i think
it was a vigor 90. suprisingly though the 50 helis went almost as
fast as the 90's and faster than the 60's

100 yards coming out of a dive is a whole lot different than what it takes to set a record.

The speed sounds a little high, but not WAY out there. It's getting pretty easy to get inflight data these days. Someone must have good data floating around somewhere.
