Hi everybody,

My company is sending me to Canada this coming April 9. Anybody out there knows and can give me information on any supplier inside Canada especially the HB Pro. Most probably near Surrey, BC, Canada.

Thanks

Good luck but I don't think you'll find many HB Pro kits up here, I was at my LHS on Friday and called the Cdn distributor for Century asking about crash parts/kits and if they have any yet. They said they have only seen 4 HB Pros so far total. They were wondering where I got all mine from (Thanks Century, it flys great) Everyone I know of is getting the parts from south of the border.

Thanks Cgrove,

It seems that I will be ordering directly from CENTURY.

Canadian Distributor is expecting a shipment of HB Pros early next week.
Norburn hobbies, close to Surrey BC should have some available right away.

Century have had a rather limited initial number of pret-production Hummingbird 3D PRO kits to date. They were rather a limited number for "beta testing" by some of its Team Century pilots to familiarize them with the units so that they can help customers who may need it.

Those that remained from this initial small airshipment were subsequently sold to their US retail store (Heli-World) who had a large number of pre-orders since November 2004. Obviously some of these where sent by Heli-World to canadians who may have pre-ordered from them.

We (LEISURE-TECH Products) were fortunately able to get a very small amount of these also sent to us in Canada and these were quickly sent out to dealers of ours who had some on pre-order considering the initial dates they had pre-ordered. Unfortunately the supply has been so limited that we still have a large number of pre-orders outstanding from our dealers.

We expect another small shipment early next week and the complete order the week following.

This is always a typical scenario with any new product from any manufacturer. e.g. as Futaba, JR, Hirobo, and Kyosho are manufactuered in Japan, you will always first find any new releases of theirs will first be available in their home markets....even before any distributors in any other country sees them.

Similarly, as Canada is a huge country and we are located on the west coast of Canada, any new items we ship to a dealer in Vancouver will get to them a week to 10 days before a dealer in the eastern part of our country - even if they are shipped the same day. (Unfortunately, until someone finds a way to ship goods as an e-mail attachment, this will continue).

We should have everything you will need for our dealers by the time you arrive in Canada.

Great to hear it oldfart. If the price is close I always prefer to buy from/through my LHS. I suspect I will be needing parts soon if I keep pushing this fabulous helicopter the way I have been. ANy idea on when crash kits, etc are likely to be available for ordering?

Thanks guys for the prompt reply. I am also with cgroves, concerning on the replacement parts, I may need those things because I am also new in this hobby. I might keep on crashing anyway.

I checked also your (oldfart) webpage address "http://www.liesuretech.ca", if this is correct, I am wondering on the price list. Is that in CDN dollar.

Thanks to GREG " gjestico" for the norburn info. I searched the internet and found this webpage "http://www.norburnrc.com".

Now i have two website to look into. I only need to check if replacement and upgrade parts are also available.

Thanks everybody

Hi Free2fly,

Yes all the prices on our site are in Canadian dollars. All the prices and product are not current at the moment because we are in the process of changing it all now to reflect our recently released catalogue that was sent out to all our dealers a few weeks ago.

To verify if the section you are looking at in the "products" catagory is recent (e.g. April 2005) check the last update date for that section. It will be listed there.

We eventually will have it all updated as well as a full parts listing. But please note: These are considered more for information only as here in Canada we sell to a dealer network spread out across our vast country so that our customers have dealers relatively close to them that they can directly communicate with. Generally we do not sell directly to a consumer, but prefer our dealers to help the customer and reap the sales.

We see our involvement as one that provides our Canadian dealers and their customers with knowledgeable technical back-up and a solid parts support after an item is established in our and their inventories.

If you will be in the Surrey area (lower mainland of B.C) you will probably find Dean at Norburn to be one of the most knowledgeable heli-flyers in Canada. He will certainly be able to provide top-notch service for any of your Century product needs.

We ship to them weekly and sometimes bi-weekly so they are seldom out of popular items and if so replacements are quickly back in stock.
