That was entirely his decision to stay

I doubt it was entirely his decision to stay. I believe the catholic church is the most corupt organization in the world. IMO.

He’s has to…..Do you think he is going to say to the Catholic world he agrees with the killing of men and women? That war is better than Peace?

You don't have to agree with the Catholic church (which I often don't) to agree that he gave everything in his life to make the world a better place.

Well he could have dismantled the Catholic Church. That would be a damn good place to start.

Next would be to pay up on all the child abuse the world over committed by catholic priests and nuns and covered up by the church.

The Catholic Church..
My argument for the Catholic Chuch is that it has given the world more great art and architecture than any other entity.. AND we can thank them for the first crusades, without which, the world would be a much less technologicaly evolved and much more violent place..

Oh yeah lets encourage mass murder in the name of christianity because that's what the crusades were all about. You no like my faith then I kill you and your whole way of life. Why do you think the world is the crap hole it is now

Way to go young christian soldiers.

PS I am catholic, just not a good one. But that depends on your point of view

Some good and, perhaps, not so good points here, however, there are times you have to look at the individual and times you have to look at the organization he represents.

This is, sadly, a time to look upon and honor the Pope as an individual and a human being who sacrificed and was dedicated to that in which he believed. We can all look upon the Catholic church in whatever way we want (quite honestly, I have absolutely no use for this bullying, ruling by fear organization), however I can respect and honor the indiviudal for his faith, dedication and sacrifice for more years than some of us have even been around to that organization. In so many words..."he talked the talk and walked the walk." How many of us can honestly say the same about ourselves.

To those who made comments about the war in Iraq, I would say, war is, indeed a sin, however, to not wage war as it should be waged (make the other side hurt so badly, so quickly that it is brought to an expeditious end) is even a greater sin.

I have always tried to stick with one principle and that is, I don't attend weddings, re-enlistments or funerals...all these events mark the end of something good.

The pope can't be held responsible for what some shady priests have done it would be better for you to say nothing than talk about what you don't know
