I'm flying 680's on an 8.45 ratio with a YS .91 and Hatori SB-16. 8.45 seems to be the sweet spot for that combo. With 680's it is ALOT harder to bog the head down like with 710's. Even with poor collective managment and hard stick banging, I can't seem to bog it down even with +/- 11 degrees pitch. I have also heard that several of the "big names" are flying 680's for this very reason.

If one is just doing mild 3D stuff, FFF and alot of autos, then the 710's might be better, but I feel the 680 will do better when you really are ringing it out hard.

Thank you guys ,

Does it make a differance if it's a long boom or not ? is it better to use the 680's with the shorter boom ?
Thanks ,

Blake what head speed are you running with 8:45?

I know YS likes better the 8:45 and my initial thought was to use this combo but with 8:27 and 680s you can spin the head with 1850 rpm. With V paddles, CX dampers and the seesaw mod the R90 becomes a flying monster.

I'm turning it 1750 - 1850. Rarly above 1800, just when I get a wild hair and crank the GV-1 up.
