Was just on the Century site, noted that all of the Hawk Sport "kits" are sold out and they are now advertising the Hawk Pro with the "kits". Sounds like the Sport is replaced by the Pro.

I sent them an email asking whether their .30 size scale ships will have Hawk Sport or Hawk Pro internals going foward. Let you know what the reply is.

God bless you Hawk Sport (with tears in my eyes) I bid you good bye (sniff sniff), you were such a good little trainer heli (sniff sniff), but the wire tail drive has moved on to stronger and better things LOL

as I thinking about the Pro it is a fantastic deal, the Sport was $180 with the extra bearing kit, the Pro comes with the rear rudder servo mount, torque tube tail drive and the lower metal frames, all for only $20 more than the Sport (worth waiting for), and only $300 with the Toki 40 Engine,,, hmmmm, and I do have 5 standard servos and a JR 460 gyro here..

Wasp...
Yeah, I got the word on the Hawk Sport day before yesterday after I tried in vain to order one through Heli-World. Anyway, now that I'm going to have to get a Hawk Pro (as per Heli-World..which is fine with me). How does anyone with a Raven do the header tank? On the Hawk Sport the main tank is mounted further back than the Pro. The Pro's tank is more in the center of the heli and further towards the front. There is little room for a header on the side between the main tank and the engine. I've now gotten all the parts in place to build the heli once it gets here. I'm looking to add things now that I want on it. The header tank looks like it will be a challenge. Another thing, know of anyone that has put the Raven metal head on a Hawk? Gut instinct tells me to buy one, but I've not heard anyone say wether they are worth the effort or not. Of course that may be just more bling to add.

For my Raven 50, my header tank is mounted above the tank to the rear. I've seen a number of folks with this set up. I've also seen a mount under the Canopy.

header tank...
BC Don,
Know where there are any pics of these setups? I'm still trying to figure this out. Without anything in my hands it's kind hard to visualize.

I like the frames with the fuel tank a little back on the hawk sport better, more visable room for the header tank, and minimal cg changes when the fuel depleats

PZ, try this link:

javascript: view('/gallery/8777/DSC00105.jpg')

Don't know if this'll work or not. If not go to user "bmartin" and check out his gallery, he has a Raven 50 with the Header tank set up same as mine.

perfesser,,, see a header tank mounted here, and if your only hovering you don't need a header tank for a while.

hey Jim, that's my setup

works great, give me a bit more flying time, consistent fuel flow and is damn-near right in-line with the carb inlet.

header tank...
Wasp,
Only thing is this is a Hawk Sport. On the Pro the distance between the engine cut out and the fuel tank is much smaller than that since the main tank has been moved up on the Pro (Raven side frames). Looks like I'll need to start looking to Raven flyers for tank tips. BTW, while I'll be hovering for a while to get my flying thumbs back, I'm no novice at this. I flew helis for ten years in the late 70's and early 80's. This will be my first heli since 1988.

perfesser, yes, your right,,, the metal lower frames you will get with your Pro are the same as the Falon/Raven,,, so the main tank is farther forward with the metal frames,,,

on my Falcon my header tank (same header tank in the photo) is mounted with the rear screw that hold the lower metal frame to the upper plastic frame (see the screw right above the main tank on the Sport in the photo),, so my header tank is on a slight angle.
