i am thinking of getting lithiums for my voyager E
i have seen these cells. would three of these put together be ok:

iRATE LIPOLY 2200 LP
LIPO
3.5 x 2.2 x 0.15 inch
1.52oz
Factory rated at 10C. 22amp cell. Bursts to 33amps (under 10 seconds)
$20.50
would this give 6600 mah with 66 amp constant draw and bursts up to 99 amps. this would be fine for my voyager with its draw around 40 amps, assuming my calculations are correct.

however the thing that is confusing me is the price. it would be $61.50
which for me is about £35 that dosent seem correct as a preassembled
pack in the uk with same specs is about £120, a massive difference.
is it just that pre assembled packs are a rip-off or is it uk prices compared to USA are a rip-off. if this price is correct it would make them cheaper than 2400mah nicad packs!

or is there some fundamental flaw in my calculations making them
unsuitable?

also if i was to go lithium apart from the charger what other stuff would i need to buy?
please give any advice.

Future 3d

I would recommend getting your cells from Schubler Jets in Germany - had nothing but good experiences as they seem to come loose but very close in performance terms to one and other. Makes for a good pack.

they look good. how much do they cost? it says 20 but has no unit

Sorry but there is a flaw in your calculations (like you thought, too good to be true!).

You'll need to connect the 3 cells in series to get enough voltage (gives about 11.1V nominal). With the cells connected in series, you gain voltage but you dont get extra capacity or current capability. To get the 66A capability and 6600mah, you need 3 cells in parallel. That means your pack needs to be built from a total of 9 cells (thats 3 parallel times 3 series, often abbreviated to 3S3P). The price for the cells alone will be about $185, so you wont save so much compared to buying the assembled pack locally.
