Hi guys im after a nice Electric heli , im currently flying a rappy .90 , flying well but not into serious 3d yet .

About 6 months ago , I bought an Esky CP heli , I sold it after 1 day as its was so poor.
Then decided to spend a little more and bought the picolla CP , well to be honest I did not see alot of improvement , think you just pay for the name
Any how , I want a heli to fly around the garden and some thing which is a little smaller than say the .30 Raptor but not as small as the Esky.

Ive been looking on ebay at the T Rex , what do you think ??

I want to get the complete set up including Radio etc , are there any RTF models , I dont have a problem building , its just im so busy , and the time I do have I would like to fly !!!!!!

Im also n the UK , any help appreciated.

Cheers Steven

it really depends on your budget and how big your garden is!
the zoom/ trex is supposed to be good and can be bought quite cheaply, the second hand zooms are going for as little as £125 complete now. however i dont know how well they handle the wind.
i have a voyager E which is a lot bigger than a trex, almost the size of a 30 size (1 meter rotor diameter) but flys and handles the wind just as well as a 30 size nitro which is important in the uk . this heli allows me to fly every day which is really good. so if you have the budget maybe a voyager E or logo 10 or eolo, although a logo 10 second hand with radio gear will cost you around £500+, a voyager E/ eolo second hand with gear £200+. although a voyager E for sale second hand is rare in the uk.
if your looking for something alot smaller then a trex / zoom should be fine, but if you have never seen one before you will be shocked how small they are compared to magazine photos!
they fly a lot better than the eskys for sure.
keep your eye on the bmfa classifieds.

Thanks for reply , Ive just been looking on ebay as theres loads of different makes simialer to the rex , Dragon fly 400 etc , they look good value include all radio gear etc.
I dont care about the size as ive got my big Raptor , as long as it will fly around the garden no hassle not like those Eskys etc.

TRex or Eolo if the TRex seems a little small, but I have an Eolo and flew a TRex last weekend for the very first time and was amazed how stable it was. also, with the right set up it will 3D with the best of them and they are resilient so I am told, with part prices much lower than an Eolo or Zoom.

He who dies with the most toys is the winner!

That dragonfly 400 you saw on eBay is a clone of a Zoom/Zap/Shogun... one of Walkera's newer helis. Officially they call it Walkera Dragonfly #35.

From my experience, you get what you pay for with Walkera. The NiMH battery that comes stock and the charger are worthless ( only ~5 mins flying time). Also, local hobby shops don't always have parts that fit these birds.

I'd take a bet that the original heli is much better quality than the Walkera knock-off. Nonetheless, due to lack of money I'll probably buy one of these next weekend (after my pitiful paycheck next friday... ), just to get a CP heli. Depending on how long you want to wait I'll tell you what I think about them once I have it.

Most of them now are offering a free 2200 li-poly battery and charger.
They are £155 and £165 on ebay , the £165 as all radio gear etc , extra main blades and the bigger battery plus free next day postage from Essex.
You can get them for £120 plus £25 shipping from Honkong but you will need to wait a week or more for it and may get stung by customs.
The T rex does look good , but it costs alot more and its not ready built , and to busy lately to be building , just want to fly.
When I first bought that Esky CP , I thought I had bought the cheaper version thats Y it was crap , so then bought the Piccola pro , the quality I think was the same if not worse , especially the body , my daughters had there easter eggs in better plastic containers.

Stuff it im going to order one tonight .
