What are the differences between the new Align 315mm Wooden blades (with the plastic ends) and the old ones? Are they much stronger? The old ones are too soft. A minor crash or touch will break the blade into halves.

Any improvement on the new ones???

Thanks.

almost all blades will do that (the flying apart bit) . The difference is a new type of blade grip at the blade root, solid wood on the new ones, and they are weighted a bit more.

Yeah, it's actually a good thing to have the blades break instead of more expensive parts (especially body parts;-)

The new blades are about .5mm thinner. The tip weights are also now on the bottom of the blade instead of the top. They should give better performance as they would presumeably have less drag being thinner. I notice a little more (< 1 minute) flight time but I havn't done any real testing of their performance so I couldn't quote any hard numbers. They seem pretty much like the old blades in all other aspects.

I really like the plastic root insert as it allows the blades to be moved back and forth for storage easier.

The film on blade for old one will be damaged easily by frequent movement for storage. But the problem is resolved on new one because of the plastic blade grip!
