Just blown up 4 glow plugs, two of them looked very burnt inside. Only managed to get the engine started once, then it cut out.

1) take working glow plug and test, works ok.
2) Place in engine and crank
3) Engine doesn't start
4) Remove glow, it's now burnt out!

Help please only got 2 plugs left!!!

Thanks

Alan.

Is this a brand new engine? What are you using as an ignitor, (nicad/Power Panel) if the enging is new make sure the HSN is 2.5 to 3 turns out. The LSN should be left at factory setting. If it's a broke in engine go to 1.5 on the HSN and where ever you need the LSN for smooth idle. If that don't work, take the head off and check for any junk floating around in the cylinder (rtv, metal, the likes). good luck.

The engine has hardly done any work and was running fine last november. It's the first time i've tried to start it since then. I've had the engine from new and haven't had any probs with it.

Using a battery powered glow ignitor

I would pull the head and check for junk inside then.

The plugs are pretty mashed when they come out. I have been using the same fuel but have 2 new gallons if you think that could be the problem. I'll take the engine out tonight and have a look inside

Pull the backplate and see if the bearing is rusted. Chris

Seem to be the same troubles I faced before. Each flight consumes one plug
May I know whether you are using pipe or muffler ?
