Hey,
As the instigator of the Stator Gator version of the RevLock, I would like to know how it is working out for everyone who is using it. The ones I know of are working great with ecstatic feedback from the users.

Also, if you know, where did the Sensitivity adjustment end up on your setup? What servo are you using?

Thanks,
John

I had trouble getting my RevLock to work correctly with a Futaba 9253 controlling the throttle. I could not get the RevLock to stop hunting (could have been a tuning issue though).

I've just changed to a Futaba 9202 (slower) and hope it works better. As soon as it stops raining and blowing here in Michigan, I'll get out and give it a try.

Works excellent! I'm using it with a JR 4131. My sensitivity is pretty low, maybe a quarter turn.

The Stator Gator/Revlock seems to work well. My only complaint is when you hit throttle hold if you need to bail out of a botched auto the Revlock takes way to long to give you the power that is needed to recover. They should have an adjustment to allow you to set the soft start.5 or 6 seconds is just to much of a delay.I am using a 4131 at a little more than a quarter turn.

It is truly different than the nitro version in a two ways. The sensor input and code was modified to work with the Stator Gator. The minimum throttle position that the governor will throttle down to was lowered to better accommodate the nature of gasser throttles/carbs. There were a few other changes considered but decided unnecessary in the end.

I like my SG and rev lock combo. they work very good, and they were much cheaper than buying a GV-1. (about $115 from Rick's)

The only problem is (like said above) it takes a few seconds to activate... so if you hit it after an auto... your throttle will go to where ever you curve is first... and then go to the governor setting. Mine will try to over rev becasue of my throttle curve... but I can just pull the stick down for that couple seconds untill the system kicks in.

Other than that... it works as advertised, and I'm happy with it's perfomance.

Well I am still unable to get my SG/RevLock combination working.

I have just tried a new Stator Gator but with no luck. The sensor light on the RevLock refuses to go from flashing to solid by pulling the starter cord (vigorously!). As soon as I start the engine it goes solid so it must be getting some kind of signal. The RevLock was sent back for testing and was found to be A1. I have set (and reset) the RevLock as per the instructions but have now run out of ideas.

The model is a Benzin Acrobat with an RC230. The throttle curve is -
1. 0
2. 22
3. 30
4. 60
5.100

Any input gratefully received

John,

I purchased the Stator Gator and RevLock based upon testing by you and Bill Meador. I already had experience with the GV-1 and SG but was looking for a better and less expensive alternative.

The SG/RevLock system works great! (I have no affiliation nor sponsorship with anybody )

Easy to install and setup.

I'm using the system on a JR Voyager with a Z230, stretched to use 800 blades and 1350 headspeed.

Throttle servo is a Fut 9202 and sensitivity setting on the RevLock is about 1/4 from off.

Thanks for your efforts.

I have the same configuration as you and that is the way its supposed to work. You cannot give pulls to the cord and expect to get a steady signal from the startor gator, the only way is to start the engine up and then the light will go stedy as to confirm the sensor is ok. If you want to jump the sensor test for setup purposes just press the set button and it will skip the sensor test fase. Be sure to cycle power before flight.

You should try a G26 modified by ESP, this will give you more power. Vario will tell you not to spin the blades higher than 1600 but i have been doing 1950Rpm. THis is a very cool setup.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Felipe (and sgt1959), my sensor is obviously working OK.
All I've got to do now is find out why the RevLock will not switch on.

It's baffling me!
