Got a radio glitch while nose-in hovering in tight quarters, got scared and did the totally wrong movement... Parked the heli tail first into a tree.

Cost to replace broken items: $10 (nice, amazed how sturdy it is)

Time spent to replace broken parts: less then 1 hour

Time spent trying to get rid of the tail wag that I got after the crash: 6 hours and counting..

Anoying huh?

Tail wag problem I had with the Trex that started after a crash was due to a bad servo.
The tail servo developed some minor slop after the crash.
Took me a few hours to figure out as the servo moved normally when tested after the crash.

Ahhh, 9 hours and counting.. (that is 9 hour tinkering/testing time)

Checklist:

Replaced gyro to a 401 (had a 240 before)
Checked main blades, replaced them for a perfect balanced woodies.
Replaced tail rotor blades
Checked belt, no teeths are missing.
Checked pinions, they are ok.
Checked main tail shaft
Checked tail shaft
Checked tail boom (Stretch kit/carbon)
Replaced ball-links, making sure the new ones run smooth
Loosened/Tightened ball-links on tail pitch slider
Checked for vibrations with/without main rotor blades.
Checked whole tail setup, made it _smooth_ (much better then before)
Replaced Servo
Checked manual setup (non-HH)
Doublechecked linkage, tail slider etc for bindings.
Tripple checked...
Tested all kind of tightness/looseness on the belt.
Tried diffrent delay/limit on gyro
Tried diffrent gain combined with delay.

Still had wag, no longer permanent, but when I do a fast rudder move it hunts 3-5 times.

Checklist 2:

Doublechecked manual pushrod setup
Changed tail pitch slider, tail rotor head.
Rewired wires from gyro/to servo
Changed receiver
Tried with and without MH CNC tail rotor head.

Made mods to the tail pitch slider to use bushings, Tail runs _very_ smooth, much less slop then before.

Changed engines to a one that gave a little more headspeed.

But STILL it wags when stopping rudder movement (slow piro is ok, but any faster then a slow piro gives wag when stopping)

Only thing I have left to do now is to take the whole tail from my other T-Rex that I know is OK and see what happens.
However, too dark outside to fly now

I find this kind of ridiculous and amazingly annoying..

Yep, ive built a whole new tail from a spare kit that I had, clean stock setup except for boom & belt (didnt have another stretch carbon boom), but I will try ditching the stretch and go standard length again to see if that helps.

"Changed engines to a one that gave a little more headspeed"

I made a pinion change to up my headspeed and this caused a tail wag on mine. Still have not got it all out, but like the way it flys with the higher headspeed.

I tried changing motors, but I have changed back, just another step to rule it out as an option...

_FINALLY_

Removed everything, including all wirering on the heli.

Then I saw it, a crack in the frame under where two plastic straps have been sitting holding cables.

Replaced half the main frame and voila!
