The carb number 197 is on my carb from walbro (Zenoah G22).
The carb came with a X-Cell graphite gasser. Is this carb OK?
Cause its engine is running a little hot (195-200F)
Lowspeed needle is 1 turn out and highspeed 1 1/4 out. If I richened it, its burping and tail wagging.
Is this carb usable for a heli engine?? (There,s a lot about the 643 carb.)
Eric.

250F is too hot. 200F is fine. Yes, the 197 works good on a K22/G23 engine series. If it has a primer bulb, it is known as the 197A.

Your doing fine, just be sure you have the proper amount of oil in your mix.

Hello James,
If i jet the engine a little leaner, then its running better. But the temp goes to about 215F.
I ve got no primer bulb, got the choke in the aircleaner. It's an easy starter, one pull with choke and one pull without then it runs.
I use gas from husqvarna called Aspen, this fuel has 1:50 oil in it and has no dopes or benzeen, It's an Alkylaat gas used for leaveblowers and chainsaws I use it also in my planes (with zenoah 62cc)
Just an idea... is a 643/644 carb better?
thanx Eric.

the premix fuel you are using could be giving you the problems. try a gallon of camper fuel(ozark-coleman) with 2 oz.s of amsoil or an equivalent of 2-cycle synthetic oil.

Smile! people will wonder what you're up to!!

Yeahh,
Made some flights, but now with more speed and the first loops.
Nice flying with such a heavy machine!
Well, I tempted the engine and its in the 230/240F!
Just for info (for comparison) I also tempted the lawnmower (I now, its a fourstroke briggs&stratton) and at the head its 270F.
Am I too concerned about the temperature maybe?
By the way is camper fuel a brand or a type of fuel? what's ozark-coleman? Can I get this in the Netherlands? are there dealerships u now of? Can I vind dealerships myself how?

250 is about as hot as I like, but realize my cooling fan is more effecient.

The Ozark is a brand, as is coleman lantern fuel. Same stuff.

It may be available at outdoor supply stores (used in lanterns and stoves primarily).

BTW i use coleman (brand name) with a mix of 2-cycle synth oil in my moped, it is a tad more expensive than gasoline but since it doesn't give me a carbon buildup in the exhaust (more downtime) i think it is well worth the xtra $$ . ken

Might it be possible that a G22 runs hotter than a newer G230?
And (what I like) more power?
Eric.
