Ok, so the rappy is hurt.

Gonna be replacing a lot. Is there anything that I SHOULD buy the upgraded part instead of a stock part to replace?

And is there a difference between 'standard' fly-bars and steel flybars? I see both available, which is better?

Should I upgrade like the tail pitch slider to a metal one? I'm getting in to doing a lot more 3d stuff now. Will be replacing the stock paddles with the green ones after a couple of check flights with the stock ones after rebuilding. Will be putting the original woodies on there just for some hovering to check everything, then going back to the carbon ones.

Is the 360 flbyar control arm upgrade worth it?

I was flying completely stock except for a header tank from heliproz.
401/9254 combo on tail
jr ds811's everywhere else except a futaba s148 on the throttle

very few upgrades will improve performance, except Muffler, and paddles, blades.... as for the rest it depends on how often you crash. if you crash a lot then you may want to stick with stock parts. I would go for a head button, and metal washout with metal arms (these tend to wear fast and you will notice slop) I also like my metal head the stock head is cheap to replace but it can also get worn and sloppy, if you crash often though and replace a upgrade may not be needed, any flybar will bend and I am not sure I would spend extra $$ on flybars. I have not yet seen any problems with my tail so I would have to say stock is good. most of these upgrades will make your heli smoother and last longer, but if you are crashing and busting parts before they wear out you will probalby not notice any performance gains, then i would say just buy fuel...... also I went with all Revolution upgrades they are unfortunatly Gold in color but so far quality has been superb... and price is about 1/2 TT and quick. I went with the metal head, seesaw and head button, washout assembly and swash, custom 18g carbon paddles

Not really but the steel looks better . I use the Heliproz version, they're pretty cheap.

I would, then you don't have to worry about the pins sliding out.

I personally like the Full Metal head & Washout upgrade, it takes out a bunch of slop and feels great. I'm not sure what the 360 upgrade is all about.

Hope that helps,

Paul

I also knocked up my raptor recently..

And i'm in the same delema you are..what to keep stock and what to bling out

Since everything from the swash up was destroyed on my heli, i decided to get the full metal upgrade from heliproz

http://www4.mailordercentral.com/he...p?number=804390

I"m also gonna switch to the green paddles once i get a chance (and the money)

Not sure what i'm gonna do about the tail (as that was also wreaked).

Might go with some bling and stay stock in other parts..

I'll let you know how the metal head flys when i get the rappy back up..

Having little ones are we?

Anyhow, about the Mavrikk 1010 metal head. I've got it on my R30V2. I really like it. It's got about 3 gallons worth of flying and is tight as can be. No slop in the grips at all.
I really like the 360* flybar control setup and have that on my 50 also.

Depending on what you need to replace, the $165 for the complete metal head is a steal! It was on sale for $159 from $189 when I bought mine last fall so it looks like the price is coming down.
For anyone that has mastered fast flight and is into aerobatics, the snot green paddles are an awesome bolt on that will really wake up your machine.
Can't recommend them enough.

See the parts HERE

It replaces the arms that the "flybar hoops" attach to.

You will like that head..I put that head on after my 1st crash and have since crashed 3 times and have not had to replace anything from swash up except for spindle, flybay, main grip control arms...Very sturdy...

If something hasn't broken on your helicopter, it's about to.
