hey guys,

just about to get my HB V3 FP back in the air after wrecking my electronics with my 2 cell etec 1250s. They were fine it was my 2am wiring that was at fault.

The nice thing is when they do arrive I've got a Graupner 300 fitted and some Like 90s arriving - so I'm looking forward to giving them a go.#

I've also put the flybar weights on - so I'll call in when up and running to let you know.

The electronics I'm getting are the 4 in 1 variety from the twister, if I were tot swap over later, what would you suggest to be a good electronics set up?

Cheers - Jase

FP are still very cool to me. I am having blast just learning the basics with mine. Just did some do it your self modifications to my Elite. Put on metal ball links on the blade grips and carved out my own wooden blades (ideas thanks to TMaster!). Looks great and and flies great too! My own blades have a very neat chopper and air wooshing noise. Here are some pictures.

That Huey is super nice, is it very heavy? i can't buy one of those foam bodies.

I'm very curious about the fly bar weights, anyone have an online source for them. Thanx-Kevin

No bother DB,

I'm picking up the new electronics from the post office depot tomorrow, so if I get a chance this weekend I'll post back.

For info I'm running etec 1250 2cell lipos, which give a fair what to a HB - may help.

The piccolo v2 comes with flybar weights $11.99 , there's gotta be a cheaper source.....

I scored a cd-rom tail motor /set-up for $20.00 used yesterday. So this weekend i'm switching out the hummingboard/century gyro to a TREC tail esc/ GY-240 then i'll add the cd-rom tail next week. (had Y cable)

I'm sellin the hummingboard /century white gyro if anyone's interested both 2 months old.

Hover.

I went with the plated brass 3/32 wheel collar on the flybar by the paddles.

They fit like a glove and really do look like they were made to be there.

Jase

Oh and they cost me 99pence (50cents) for a pack of five.

Here’s one of my V2s, I had to add flybar weights (3/32 wheel collars) to my CP to get it to fly as nice as my V2.

Hi guys,

reporting back on flybar weights.

Added them to my HB V3 with the Graupner 300 and with the etec 1250 lipos my flight times are down from 20mins to around 10+. Took off the weights and I'm getting 15 mins!

So inside, no flybar weights is fine for the extra flight time. Outside the weights really do help in a small breeze.

If you guys aren't upgrading to Like 90s I'd suggest leaving the standard motor in, you'll save that battery, but the Like 90s require the extra oomph of the graupner I'm told.

The weights do make the Heli more sluggish on the cyclic, but they really do steady it.

Having said that with the Twister 4 in 1 electronics, I'm getting a really steady tail, I can even take my hand of the left stick for around 3-4 seconds and fly it on the cyclic stick, for me that is a revelation.

JonDoe, i recently bought a used cd-rom tail setup, looking at it i noticed it was for the opposite side my DD tail is mounted. Will this work with my TREC esc? Does it fly the same with the controls? thanx-Kevin
