I was under the impression Hirobo used a collett for the E3 as wouldn't it center better than keying it?

FYI on similar lines I had trouble centering the hub on my Evo & tried the SD keyed version which was even worse.

Im quite sure that the E3 flywheel uses a collet.
At least the ones that came with the first Eagle3 batch.

The E3 uses a collet and the hub has been reworked to allow the collet to fully seat in the hub. The included special washer allows all the parts to fit to a tight tolerance. The E3 hub kicks butt over the the previous WC version.

Little or no work involved in dialing in that part.

DEFINITELY a tapered collet with an extra washer that goes on before the collet. Works a treat

Yup, the keyed one works great. Guess Hirobo wanted to make it even greater!

So you don't use the washer that comes with the engine?

I've often forgotten to put on the washer with the WC 'wheel. Suppose it's to stop the bearing from digging into the soft aluminium.

With the E3 one, no you dont use the engine washer, use the one that comes with the heli.
(EDITED) With OS engine use the supplied washer with the heli.
