Futaba 3101 Servos
HP,
I did a lot of looking before I found any info on the Futaba 3101 servos. I could not find anyone here in the US still selling them! Looks like the speed @ 4.8 volts for 60 degrees rotation is .18. This would appear to be slower than most of the other micro servos. I don't think I would want one of them on the tail rotor at least.

Servocity.com sells them. I know not to put it on the tail, b ut it has lots of power for the rest of the servos. What are good servos to use? are the blue birds good or are they too cheap? What about the hi-tech's? Do you have to modify the 56's or will they slap right in? I have some JR's coming but I kinda want to stay away from JR....

After trying virtually every servo you can think of I would reccomend the HS56 by Hitec. No other servo from Hitec will ever get my endoresment. The HS56 really work well in this application. I dont know about the 3101's. I know some people here are using mini Futaba servos but I dont recall the model #.

HP,
I am using Futaba 3108's and they seem to be fine. They have very short leads. Was not a problem for me as my Rx is up front. I did have to elongate the servo lug mounting holes to span the TRex mounting holes. The TRex appears to be setup for Align servos. The Hitec HS56 servos will require that you shim up the Roll servo in the Pitch Seesaw as they are just a bit too short. No big deal. Use some 1/16 ply from the LHS and a bit of epoxy. Folks are using all manner of servos in their Rex's. Search around here in the Forum. I have seen folks using GWS, Align. Bluebird, Futabas, JR etc.

Need Opinions on Bluebird Servos
HP,
I have no experience with the Bluebird servos They seem to be readily available and some good online sellers offer them. My suggestion is to start a thread with the title something like I opened this reply with. State your case and hopefully we will get some answers. I would like to know as well.
