I'm using a Rev Max and I am having some issues with it not holding the engine RPM properly. I am using it with a GV-1 sensor which I received confirmation from Model Avionics that it was compatible. I have tested the sensor by putting the GV-1 back into the heli and it reads 97% and the GV-1 works with no issues.

When I try the Rev Max, the unit starts out holding the RPM but shortly starts to hunt and briefly lets go of the RPM which results in over speed for a brief period. I have tried adjusting the ATV values and have confirmed that the unit was calibrated properly. I can also fly the heli without any issues on the throttle curve and on the GV-1 so I am sure the engine is tuned fairly well.

I am using a flat curve in idle up 2, a V curve in idle up 1 and a linear curve in normal mode. I have set the ATV values based on the calculator on the website.

This unit actually worked on my first flight but has not been consistent since then.

Any suggestions?

I think I have the same problem
Interesting...I have a GV-1 and seem to have developed the same problem. Mine worked flawlessly last summer, but now it "lets go" of the set RPM in normal and idle ups. I've reset the brain box and readjusted the sensor for 97% output. It will hold for a minute or two and then "release." Luckily I set up throttle curves as a backup. I'm going to replace the sensor. That is usually the weakest link.

I installed the supplied sensor from Model Avionics and the Rev Max works fine now. It seemd to work with the GV-1 sensor on the first flight but this sensor might be on it's way out.

I'm using the Rev Max with the supplied sensor in both my 90 and my 50 helicopters. I did leave the GV1 magnets in the fan since I used GV1's before. This setup has been working very well.

I guess have the same throttle curves as you. A flat 100% in idle up 2, a v curve in idle up 1 and a somewhat linear curve in normal mode. On the 9C I did set the atv for channel 7 to 95% and use the governor menu to control the head speed through channel 7.
